As Tere noticed her sister straighten, she herself had straightened and as if the others were an extension of their captain, they too had straightened, almost as if they were expecting a battle of some kind. Then the door opened and a young girl walked in, her brow arched slightly at Ember and the official way they both addressed each other. Then Ember spoke and Tere's teal eyes set upon the newest addition to the room.
"Well, before I agree to anything, a full detail of what my girls and I will be doing would be useful, and much appreciated." She stated plainly as she and the girls continued to watch the newest woman to enter her sister's office. "So, what is it you would like us to do?" She asked, Coal and a few others sat forward a little as Tere shifted so that she could lean against one arm of the chair a little more.

Ember Lynn looked at Melanie with expectation for a moment before throwing in her two cents, "Thorn, I was thinking these girls could be useful to you in the field. They could serve as a source, perhaps moves things for you or provide transportation on the Song." Ember Lynn was not sure of everything that they really could do. She just got the reports at the end, Melanie would need to explain further.

Nodding her head when the Chancellor was done speaking, Melanie took a moment to process the information. She knew quite a bit about the Song, but little about it's crew or captain. "I would like to speak further with these ladies about their skills and capabilities, as it's hard to pinpoint what their duties would be without more information." Yes, she would at least need to speak with the captain at length. "However, I do know that we need a combat trained transport crew. That would work nicely."

Tere and the others in her upper echelon of her crew looked between the two women, some were curious, Tere and Coal were more contemplative. Then as the newcome spoke about needing a crew trained in combat, Tere smirked to Coal and nodded to the woman before she spoke up. "I do believe the only ones that can trump us in combat are children of Ares and Athena, though I doubt children of either could hold their own in turbulent seas." Arrogant? Perhaps, but true none-the-less.
"We are also quite good at hiding things in small spaces." She said with a smirk, thinking of her abilities to smuggle things in and out of ports. It was safe to say, Teresia and her crew walked a fine line between pirates like Blackbeard and pirates like Anne Bonny. "By the way, feel free to ask me anything right now that is on your mind. I hide nothing from my sister..." She looked to Ember, "...or my crew."

"Right now, the transportation issue is one of our biggest worries. We frequently have injured agents or immigrants that need assistance, which is where your crew comes in." Pausing for a moment, Melanie took a breath before continuing. It gave her a chance to gauge the reaction of everyone else in the room. "What I need to know on that front is if your crew would be able to go ashore to assist in an evacuation. I also need to know what kind of response times I can expect from you in an emergency. For example, If I were at Camp, how long would it take you to get from there to Concordia?" Yes, this was information that they could probably get to later, but if they wanted details, this is what they had to do.
"I also hope that you understand when I say we don't advertise who our agents are. If you do decide to join us, then it is at your own discretion to tell your position within the Garrison. Personally, I don't tell anyone other than my agents, those that I work with personally on missions, and my siblings, one of whom is an agent and the other whose shipping lines we use as another less reliable from of transport. Most of us simply identify as a garrison soldier and blend in with the ranks. I expect you to keep everyone else's covers securely in place, even if you choose to disclose your own." It was a harsh reality that the island wasn't completely safe. If the girls chose to be open, then it was their business. Her agents and the safety of the ones who chose to remain anonymous was her business.

Teresia nodded as Melanie told her that the biggest issue was that of the transportation, she and the girls glanced to one another and then she gave a nod to the woman's first question "Indeed, we can. As for our response, I can get from here to Half-blood in about a day and a half if the girls and I use our powers to our advantage. The Song is strong and fast, but faster when the wind is with us." She smirked as she looked to her sister for a moment and then back to Melanie "And the wind is always with us." She said in a rather arrogant fashion before her face once again returned to a seriousness of a captain.
"As for ranks, my girls know their ranks, those are the only ranks that they will advertise. The ones given to them by me at sea. Anything else will be kept to ourselves. After all, we do have reps to protect." She said with another smirk, this time her tone was teasing but the seriousness was still in her deep, teal eyes that sparkled like the sea that she came from. "In all seriousness though, my girls know when to talk and when to zip them tight. And I, I wouldn't still be a captain still if I didn't know how to keep a secret or two, so anything you tell me is between you and me... and possibly her and her..." She said as she pointed to Coal and Scarlet.

Melanie nodded as Teresia finished. "Alright then. Those are all the question I have for now." This could definintly work, which pleased her quite a bit. Transport was a big issue, after all. Yes, they had faster ways of getting places, but those could only be utilized in extreme emergencies due to their limited resources. This was huge. "Do you or your girls have any questions for me before we end this meeting? Of course, I can always be reached at my home or the secure line if I have to leave the island any time soon. Chancellor Hadley knows how to find me." Actually, when she was off base the Chancellor was one of three people that could easily access her, the other two being her sister and Commander Craddock.

Teresia looked at Melanie for a moment, contemplating what else she could think of, the woman worked for the garrison. But did this mean that she would too? She thought about it a little more and realized, that she had a few more questions than she first thought. "Hmmm, well, I believe I do have a few more questions. My sister..." She stopped to glance at Ember and then continued "...said that I would answer to you if I accept, does that mean that there is some other title that I would have, at least within the garrison that Ember mentioned, or would I appear to just be another member of the city, with my 'job' being that of a 'merchant'?" It was a bit amusing that this was one of her first questions, but she saw it as the most important. She had an ego to stroke. Her own.
She licked her lower lip for a moment and then smirked "Also, would my girls and I have free reign to go anywhere or are we to stick close to port? I must say, my girls and I have been at see for quite some time." She said with a slight smirk, an inside pirate's joke that only she and her girls seemed to get and all fo them took on the same smile. That 'cat that ate the canary' grin that said they would be up to some 'devil's games' that would put Dionysus to shame. The last question she had she would wait until she and her sister were once again alone, it was the least important but one that she would still like to know.

"Most people in Intelligence are formally addressed as Agent when speaking to someone in the professional sense. I'm sure most people would continue to call you Captain, but yes, as far as this is concerned that would be a your rank. As for what you tell people, you can either continue to say you are a merchant or you can simply choose to identify with the Garrison. If people question you, tell them it's classified." Melanie relayed with a smirk. That was her favorite line. Everything is classified and no one has the clearance.
"Now, there are people other than myself who may be able to give you orders. My rank is the equivalent to a Captain in the Garrison, though most of the time I only answer to the Commander and the Chancellor directly. It's not an exercised power, but be aware that anyone above my rank does have it." Since most of her work was done away from the Garrison in general, Melanie didn't have many problems with this. Sure, it happened from time to time, but it was never anything serious. Annoying, but not serious.
"As for whether or not you need to stay close, that's a two-fold question. In general, you'll probably be fairly busy and therefore won't be on base. When you aren't here, I need to know where your going. This isn't because I want to keep tabs on you," Melanie clarified before anything could be misunderstood. "but it let's me know whether or not you can respond to a distress call in enough time. Other than that, unless the Chancellor disagrees, I have no issue with you staying at sea. Just make sure I know where you are, even if I don't need to know what your doing there." She had no intention of telling a pirate that she needed to be land locked. It would be the farthest thing from intelligent.

Teresia listened as Melanie spoke, nodding a bit in understanding before smirking just a bit at Melanie's go to phrase. She herself would probably go with 'I could tell you, but then I'll have to kill you.' It was an old line, but one befitting her personality so much. There were things she liked to do that made her think Poseidon was more like his siblings than he liked to admit. She then mentally shook herself from her thoughts and brought herself back to listening. She understood there would be others that she would have to answer too but was appreciative of the fact that it seemed as if it was light on the strictness. If it was one thing she had a problem with, it was authority that liked to stranglehold their underlings.
When Melanie got to the other question she asked, Tere smirked again, this time though only slightly. It seemed that there had been a bit of a mistake on what she had meant, and that was mostly Tere's fault. "I can understand that, I will leave a way for my sister and you to contact me in urgency whenever The Song and my crew are away from the island." She smiled a bit impishly and then glanced to both women, while her crew did the same, their eyes dancing from one woman to the other as well as their captain. "That said, I was asking more about on the island. Are the girls and myself allowed to roam the island wherever or are we restricted to the port and the waters off the island?" She asked, wondering if there was any place that would be restricted to the crew of female pirates.

"Nothing is off limits other than the common sense areas. Stay out of offices and residences unless ordered or invited in. most intelligence agents have high level clearance, though that's up to the commander to decide, or the chancellor." Melanie recited dutifully. It was more of a disclaimer than an actual answer, but one that she had to give.
"Should you need to contact me after this meeting is over, I can generally be found near the Garrison headquarters nor in the House of Hades. Anyone should be able to point you in the house's direction. I'm sure that you need to be settling in and catching up with your sister." She finished with a smile. Looking around the room, she couldn't help but give a small chuckle. "I'm assuming that I have a significant amount of paperwork to do now, getting the crew processed and into the system."

Tere gave a dutiful nod as Melanie gave her the last bit of information that she was looking for. She glanced to the girls for a moment and then back to Melanie as she spoke about having a fair bit of paperwork what with getting the crew into the system. Her eyes landed first on her first mate and loyal right hand Scarlet and then to Arista, both of whom stood without any prompt other than the look of their captain. Her teal eyes once again glanced to Melanie and smiled a bit "Yes, my sister and I do have quite a bit of catching up to do. If you would like assistance with the paperwork, Scarlet and Arista can help you while the rest of the crew does what they know they have to do." She said, the other women began to stand and file out without a single word.
"On the song I hold a tight leash with them."
"Makes us bark too..." Coal grumbled as she walked out of the room, winking to Tere but then rolling her eyes as Tere glared back at her.
"That's Coal... or as I am sure you will come to know her 'Pain in the ass'." She said and then looked to Scarlet and Arista once again who were trying hard not to smile. If Melanie turned down the help from the two, she knew that the women would as the rest of the crew make their way back to the ship, to get things in order before they had a much needed shore leave.

Ember Lynn had sat, listening to the conversation, but not really interested in anything that was being said. She stifled a yawn and looked out the large, floor to ceiling, window. The sky was clear and bright, streaked with glorious reds, oranges, and pinks as the sun sunk below the horizon lazily. All Ember could think about was running across the water and curling up next to Dylan as soon as possible. It had been such a long day...
As the girls rose and exited the room, the Chancellor stood with them, a learned formality from years on the job. She put a pleasant smile on her face and looked at her sister sweetly, "They all look well. I'm happy. I was honestly worried that the Egyptians had gotten the Song. I now see how ridiculous that thought was."

Tere gave a soft smile to her sister, then the smile turned a bit arrogant "It takes a lot more than that to take out the Song." Then the smile faded and she glanced over, out the window for a moment before she added on "I think one reason why they didn't find us was the fact that we are always on the move. It makes me wish though that I had stayed put for a bit so that you could find us, perhaps the song could have give us a better fighting chance." She said, though she wondered a little if that were really true.
Could the Song have been able to turn the tides - so-to-speak - could they have saved lives? In a way she knew that she had at least saved the lives of the women on her ship, sisters and cousins. But all the others of Camp Half-blood? She sighed a little and then glanced out the window again. "Well, dear sister, I think I shall leave you to get some work done, I'm sure you will have lots of paper work to do, and I have to return to the song to make sure the girls have finished their jobs before running a muck on the island." She said in a teasing tone.

Ember Lynn nodded, grinning and standing as her sister stood, "Don't let them get too crazy, Tere. You know they will want to." She looked over her shoulder at the window, noticing another ship coming into port, this time expected. She smiled and looked at her sister, glad she was leaving because work never ended, "Speaking of crazy, there's a new club on the island. The girls should check it out when they go on leave."
