Shane glared at the guy for a moment before reminding himself to shrug it off. A) These guys were his friends. B)Braxton was his commanding officer. He couldn't do anything to him, even if he wanted to. "Whatever you say man." Now watch, Shane would be the one to lose, simply because he said something. What would Coach call that? Oh, yeah, karma.

Deacon threw a few chips in, betting on the hand Taze dealt to him and shrugging. He hoped no one could pick up on his smug look as he mentally gloated about pockets aces. He really didn't want to seem to eager. In order to keep himself from really showing how pleased he was with himself, he stared down at his hands and tried his best to look dejected.

Braxton narrowed his eyes at the other blond man, "Jacoby, you are so transparent." He said with a grin, "Thank goodness you are only a bad liar when it comes to your own money or we might have issues back at the Garrison." Braxton threw his cards down, a 2 of hearts and the jack of clubs. It was probably one of the worst hands he could have been dealt. He leaned back and sighed, wondering how this was going to go. He wasn't off to the best start...

Shane grimaced as he looked at his hand, but nodded at Braxton's comment. Unless someone else had something awesome, he was pretty sure that Deacon had them beat. Throwing his cards down, he revealed a three of diamonds and a two of spades. Nope, it couldn't get much worse.

Pan leaned back and put his feet up on a bar beside him, looking at his cards. Eh, they were pretty good but not the best. Not that he really cared. Honestly, Pan didn't feel he really fit in with the group of boys... honestly, he really only came around because his friend Taze invited him to come along and make some friends. Taze knew what Pan had back at Camp Half Blood. A ban of boys who followed his every whim, basically. But this was different. Pan wasn't the leader anymore and he wasn't into girls or money or sweat. No, Pan missed hanging out with his younger friends... the kids who made his life fun. The kids who died.
Ugh, why did he even bother making new friends. No, no that wasn't a good way to think. He thought about all of this as his face showed no emotion as he stared up into the sky, cards close to his face.

Deacon narrowed his eyes at the group, stopping his gaze on Pan who seemed to be deep in thought, which was beyond strange for him. He coughed and lifting his head, watching the bets run around the circle and find their way back to him, "So Pan, I heard that you are making friend with the Ecstasy girl. She seems cool." He didn't know how else to pull the boy back into their conversation.

Taze's ears perked up when Deacon mentioned the ecstasy girl. There was only one that he could think of and he had slept with her. Deciding it would be better not to mention it, he grinned and looked at Pan, "What? No way! She's hot!" He leaned into the circle, suddenly more interested in the conversation.

"Wait. Your hanging with Abcde?" Tristan said, obviously impressed. It just wasn't pan's thing. Looking at his cards for a moment, Tristan wondered if Shane would really go through with the bet. Then again, everyone was pretty intently listening to Pan now, interested in his latest exploit. At least no one had caught him. With AB yet that he knew of, so Pan could have all that to himself.

Shane, still pissed at the way things were turning out, simply chose to lean further in to the conversation. He could really care less about Abby or whatever her name was, but if everyone else was interested, then he would be too. They didn't need him to comment on anything, at least not in his opinion. This game was feeling stupid, but maybe if Pan distracted them it wouldn't matter whether he lost or not. They'd just forget.

Pan looked over at the guys when Deacon coughed. He smiled at the mention of Abcde and shook his head a little, but he was glad for the distraction from his thought process. "Sure, we're friends," he said casually. He felt oddly protective over her when Taze said she was 'hot'. This was exactly why he didn't bring up Tylar. These guys would go crazy over her, he bet. He wouldn't call her hot though. Beautiful, maybe, if he was the kind of guy to say that kind of thing about a girl.
"She is cool, Deac. Haven't really noticed the 'hot' thing," Pan rolled his eyes and smirked at Taze on the last comment. "I dunno, she's all advicey and whatnot."

Braxton snorted, rolling his eyes at Pan's naive comment, "Advicey?" Braxton looked at Taze and they both nodded at each other before saying in unison, "Friend-zone." Braxton laughed before continuing, "You got no shot with a girl who gives you advice, especially if it is about girls or clothes. Please tell me it's not."

Taze couldn't hold back his grin, "Yeah, if you don't notice the 'hot' thing then she probably isn't your type anyway." He suddenly was trying to remember if he still had Abcde's phone number. Maybe he should give her a call? "All right guys, here comes the flop." He flipped over three cards and laid them out across the stone of the colosseum floor. three diamonds...awesome. Taze looked down at the cards nonchalantly before glancing up at Shane, "Don't think I don't notice you hoping we forget about the bet." He winked at his friend mischievously.

"Who said I wanted a shot with her?" Pan snapped at Braxton, giving Taze a little glare as well. Now, there was not way he was going to tell them that Abcde did indeed advise him on girls and clothes... but they talked about other stuff too! So, he'd focus on that. "We generally talk about stuff that I never knew about the mortal world... as in, tv shows, bands, etc. I was raised in camp so I don't know about any of that stuff," oh, and drugs. That hilarious conversation had come up.
(Ryn, you can Godmode Pans card playing for me if you want cuz I have nooo idea what game we're playing or how to play haha)

Tristan couldn't help but laugh at the look on Shane's face when Taze called him out. It was priceless. "Man, you really have to lighten up. It's gotta be bad to be so uptight all the time." The whole garrison excuse just didn't work around here with Brax and Deacon being present. Shane was just an ass most of the time. Good thing he had his moments or no one would be able to tolerate him.

"Remind me why I hang out with you two again?" Shane said, glaring at Tristan and Taze. The Hephaestus boys had a tendency to annoy him on a daily basis. Still, he threw his cards down, knowing that he had lost that round. "Besides, it's only the first round. Not like I can lose 'em all." That is, not as long as Taze didn't cheat, which he was almost certain he did sometimes. There was no way that he lost so much naturally.
