Jason was in decent shape. He had been for as long as he could remember. Having been on the island for a week, though- he quickly realized he was going to need to put his ass to work hard in getting up his stamina. He imagined the others here had years of service, and since he was deciding to keep his heritage to himself, he guessed he wouldn't be getting any special treatment. That was all well and good for him. He desired no favoritism. He wished he could tell his siblings, but on the other hand, not having them or anyone worry about him constantly was refreshing.
Right now, he was in the woods on a jog, dodging in and out of trees. His shirt was tucked into the back of his pants, and he was sweating heavily. He was sore from a similar workout yesterday, but in truth, it felt good. No TV. No Computer. Just him alone, reminding himself of who he was. What he was made of. Of the God's power coursing through his blood. He stopped, finally, hands on his hips, staring at the ground, remembering the night at the pond, when the trident spun over his head.
When his father, for the first time...spoke to him. In a way, he spoke to him. Claiming and declaring him as the son of the Sea God.
He clenched his eyes shut a moment, trying to shake the thought from his mind.

Masin was wearing tight black running pants that stopped at her ankles, a purple sleeveless top and a band across her head, hair in a ponytail. She went for a run at the same time every single day. If there was anything Masin believed in more than justice, it was order and routine. Things needed to be done a certain way, and in a certain fashion. If something was found that worked, it shouldn't be changed. Every time she looked in the mirror she knew her day to day routine was working because really, just look at her, she was fit as a fiddle and healthy too. She wasn't obsessed with being thin, she was obsessed with being the best she could be. Energized, toned and ready for anything. She was ready to fight with words and with her body at any given moment. Masin was not easily taken by surprise.
Which was why she didn't crash into the guy who was standing in the middle of her regular path. Well, she was due for a break anyway. She slowed to a stop and surveyed him before loudly clearing her throat. "Stuck?" she asked with a raised eyebrow and a hint of sarcasm.

He turned toward the girl who spoke, looking her over a moment as he wiped his brow.
"No, just catching my breath. Been a while since I've had time to just run, and since realizing after my arrival a few days back that everyone here can probably kill me, I want to make sure I catch up."
He eyed her with a grin following his statement/joke. Something seemed familiar about her. She had a sarcastic tone, which told him she was self assured and possibly a wee bit cocky- unsure on that yet, totally. She was running, which meant staying in shape was important. Her figured was ordered, structured. Everything had it's proper place. She, clearly, was not a child of Poseidon.
Jason, meanwhile, was sweaty, shirt tucked in the back of his shorts, had some mud on him, hair a little disheveled. It was obvious he was as unpredictable as the crashing of the waves, and while completely out of tune by her words, he was not caught off guard. Since coming here, he had to put up a new front- one of strength. Otherwise...who knew if someone would take advantage of him.
"So, I assume you know the area pretty well?"

"Wise. No need to get killed your first week," Masin commented, folded her arms across her chest. She didn't smile, not really, but her mouth turned up a little bit. Masin wasn't the best at social interaction if it interrupted a routine. Still, if she wanted to be elected Chancellor she needed to get to know the people on the Island, especially the new ones. "You should train with the Garrison leadership. They'll get you back into shape," actually, he didn't look that bad to her but she could understand the need to get caught up.
"Oh yeah, this spot is on my regular running route. It goes through the trees and out by this amazing lake. I could show you, if you wanted," she offered, but she didn't start to move just yet. "Masin, Magistrate for Zeus," she introduced herself, giving a little salute with her right hand after pulling it out from her folded arms.

Ah. A magistrate...for Zeus. So...she was a daughter of the high God- noted. He nodded.
"Jason. It's a pleasure. And I would love to see this lake."
He noted what she said about the garrison- he'd already had it on his mind to join the military. It seemed the quickest way to both stay in shape and protect his siblings. This girl...she wouldn't know who he belonged to, assuming Emmy kept it to herself as she promised. He would step aside, holding out a hand in the direction she had been running.
"After you."

"Pleasure," Masin repeated before nodding at his 'after you' and continuing to run in her normal path. Well, it was a bit more of a jog now considering she had stopped for so long. She would pick up speed after the lake, since they'd probably stop their too.
She jogged through the trees, checking every so often to make sure he was near her, then soon and suddenly a large clearing opened up and a lake was before them, surrounded by flowers and wide open space. She slowed to a stop, stepping up on one of the large rocks beside the water.
"Here it is. I don't know if we've named it yet, actually... I should check with the Chancellor on that," she smiled, gesturing to the water.

Jason would follow methodically, keeping an even pace with her. He kept his strides shorter as he was a bit taller than her, but they were keeping an even enough pace for him to feel the burn. As they came out into the field overlooking the lake, his eyes widened. Exceptional. He walked slowly out into air and ran a hand through his hair.
"Woah...this is gorgeous. You jog by here every day? You realize that I'm gonna jack your path, right?"
He would grin, spreading his arms so the breeze could hit his bare chest, cooling the sweat there. He would speak as he did so, trying his best to keep her in tune and not let silence drag on awkwardly.
"So...magistrate. What do you do, exactly?"

Masin laughed as Jason talked about 'jacking' her path. "Feel free. Just get used to me running by you," she joked. Well, half joked. She really was rather fast if she tried to be, but for the most part she just tried to keep at a steady pace.
"Well, I handle various things on the island, really. We're supposed to represent our families, approve legislation, discuss budget, emergency procedures, oversea immigration... and a lot more," she explained.
