Tere hadn't been kidding when she said that she and the others would watch him like a hawk, so when she saw him rubbing the bracelet out of the corner of her eye, she could guess how he figured it out. She sighed, shook her head and continued up and out towards the deck. And when he asked his question she glanced back at him and shrugged.
"That would be the chancellor's choice, I'm just here to get you from point a to point b." Then she continued up onto the main deck to take control of the wheel as the other girls worked around the ship.

Alek would leave his hands down at his sides, following her to the surface. He paused, rather than go outside. Rather than see the crashing of the waves. The water filling the massive boat. He took a deep breath before steeling himself and heading out. He'd look around at the sea, clearly not at ease on a boat. He knew she would see that but he didn't care- fire plus water equals bad for him. He would grab a railing.
"Ugh....I hate the damned sea."
Yeah, that was a way to get on her good side.

"Yeah, well it doesn't like you either." Coal retorted as she walked by during her pass to get at some of the rigging. Then Tere smirked from behind her wheel, looking at the sick guy. She decided to take some pity on the poor guy and called out to him.
"Stare at the horizon, not at the waves. You need to focus on a fixed point not a moving one." That was one cure all to sea sickness. She doubted he would be up for the other one, at least not with out his permission. Out on the horizon Concordia was just a small speck but it was slowly getting larger and larger the closer they got.

Alek grunted in acknowledgement. He couldn't argue- the sea was swaying them this way and that, as though it wanted to buck the son of Hephaestus. He would turn to do as he was told, staring at the horizon and the island. It helped ease his suffering. He would gently release the rail and give a calmer smile.
"This is much better. I no longer feel as though I'm riding a bull."
He would look over at her and scowl. It was obvious the scowl was quite playful in it's measure, not actually meaning to seem angry. He was just making sure she knew her carefree sailing nature unsettled him.
"I shall enjoy us being comrades, I think. Just not like...sailing buddies."
Noooo....never sailing buddies.

Tere smirked a bit as she continued to sail closer to the island, it was now clearly an island but still could be hidden if he lifted his hand to block the view. "You want to feel like you are riding a bull? You should go up there." She teased, if there was one place to get whipped around it was near the top of the masts. And of course, the wind up there never helped.
As he spoke again, she laughed a bit and nodded. "I can't expect everyone I know to love the sea like me. Silly Land Lubber." She teased more, ignoring the fake sneer on his face. "Though, would be nice."

He nodded. It was decided then.
"Very well then! You and I shall be comrades! And for getting me out of death, I owe you a life debt, to be paid in full upon request. You come knocking, cash in, Alek comes to your side."
He laughed and clapped her on the back as the island came into view. He decided he'd enjoy living in luxury with a bunch of gorgeous women? What russian madman wouldn't love that?

She watched as he came close to her, slightly tense but for the most part just curious as to what he was up to. As he spoke though, she arched her brow and smirked. "That is a dangerous promise to make a pirate... Especially a pirate princess." She teased and then glanced back at the island. "You know, you might have family on there..." She stated... She didn't know who his parent was, but on that island, it was hard not to have a sibling.

Alek would scoff at the promise- despite his casual demeanor about it, he took such things very seriously. To the bone serious. He never, ever broke a promise when he made one. He remembered getting black out drunk and the next morning people told him someone cashed in on a promise and he drunkedly followed through. It was burned into his soul. He would kick back, stretching his body before he froze as she said he might have siblings there.
"What....did you just say to me?"
He would snatch out for her shoulder, aiming to grab cloth and get in her face. He was not happy go lucky now- now he was suspicious.
"Is this a trap, comrade? Is that why you brought me? Putin's last revenge, to see the bodies of my family?"
He was ready to toast her.

As he grabbed her to force her to face him, she pulled one of her hidden daggers and pressed it to his groin. One quick flick of a wrist, that's all it would take to change his religion.
"No asshole... It's not a trap..." She dug the dagger in just enough that he'd feel pressure but not pain - yet. "Gods are notorious for sleeping with anyone who walks... This means there is a chance that someone on that island could be related to you through them. Now. Unhand. Me!" She said in a deadly calm tone.

Alek didn't look down at knife- he didn't care about it. He if she flicked her wrist He'd light this treebone vessel up and burn everyone alive. He'd rather go down killing everyone around him than suffer through what they would plan for him. He would stare back as she told him other demi-gods were there before he slowly released her shoulder, patting down the cloth.
"Right....apologies. I thought perhaps all this was some sick joke and the bodies of my sem'ya (family) were going to be waiting on the shore. I am sorry for my outburst."
He would wait for her to remove the knife before he would step away. No sense in losing his Johnson over nothing, right?

As he released her she nodded a bit and then licked her lips and pulled the dagger away from him. "I might be a bitch, even a killer when need be... But I would never, ever be part of something as villainous as what you think may be waiting on that island. Let me tell you what is waiting there for you, and listen close, I'm not the bed time story lady. What is on that island is safety, from mortals, from their evil. From titans what had you not been where the hell you were would have smashed you in your sleep and killed her family in ways Putin could only dream of. That island, it's our salvation." she said as she slid the dagger into the hidden sheath in her shorts.

Alek turned to look at her, staring with a cold spark in his eye. He wondered how he could put it without offending her, without making her feel like she had to get defensive.
"My eyes have seen things that no mortal should see. Things that tear the soul. Your titans, as capable and dangerous as you believe I am sure, would not be creative enough. That is all I can say to that. There is a point where creativity loses it's ability to awe, and I am dead inside. They do not scare me, More Devushka (Sea Girl)."
He would turn back around to stare at the paradise she had described. No matter the place, no where was perfect. And if they were as terrible as she made them sound, they would find them all eventually. Such was the way of the world.

She nodded and took the wheel once again. During their little chat the ship had strayed a bit from its course so she had to put it right before glancing back over at the guy and shrugging. "No place is perfect, least of all this island, there are still monsters to contend with, literal and metaphorical. But look at it this way... Can't be any worse than where you were... Comrade." She said with a smirk.

He would give a half smirk at that.
"Very true. I am grateful to be here. Perhaps I will get back to farming. I am sure that would make my step-father happy."
His dad had always told him that they were the lowest of the low. Farmers were a step under slaves to him. Used for every purpose from political to natural. They made the perfect scapegoat if you needed someone to bite the bullet to. Alek would bite that bullet- he always loved farming anyway.

"I haven't seen many farmers on the island, so I'm sure that would be appreciated. If you're able fight, there is the garrison, if you have a taste for politics there is the magistry. But that will be up to you and the chancellor." She said as she gave the wheel a little turn. The island now was clear, the port even was in clear view. You could even see some of the apartments from here now.
