"Sure, what do you have in mind?" Poising his hand over the sketch pad to start drawing what she suggested, Tris paused for a moment. "Most things won't mess with a blade the way I make them, unless it's way too thing. It's a solid piece of steel, adds to the integrity." Without having to make it in separate piece, the thing would practically be a sharp steel rod. You could file down a pipe and get a similar effect, but this...was something different. It fascinated him every time, without fail.

Seph nodded "Well, that's good to hear." She said as he explained that the engraving wouldn't diminish the blade's strength any. Then she glanced at the pad and his hand poised over I with the pen. "Would you mind if I wrote it down? It's not in English... It's a series of runes. I doubt the spell they create will actually work, but as my mother is the goddess of magic, I thought a magic spell would be a fitting tribute to her."She waited to see if he would allow her the use of the pen so that she could write down the runes on the edge of the paper away from his drawing of the sword.

"Of course." Watching her write the spell, Tris' brow furrowed. He wasn't sure what the runes meant, but he would ask before making the blade. It wouldn't matter, but if the thing actually activated...well, he had seen stranger things on the island. "What does it mean? Just out of curiosity. I don't want to blow my place up if the spell actually activates." He'd had enchanted metals make a pretty heavy dent in his world before, and this could be very similar. Still, it was cool that she actually knew a spell.

Seph smirked a bit as she handed the pencil back to him, "I don't think you'd need to worry about your place being blown up, but I would be careful when testing the sharpness." She said and then continued, "If it did, I could help you find a new place, I'm a real estate developer, it's my thing. That said, the runes mean 'Blessed Be The Blade, Cursed Be The Cut, Damned Be The Soul'. It seemed fitting for a blade and very my mother's style." It also fit her power, the blade may not really curse and damn people it cut down, but they would feel that way when her power activated.

"Wicked." He said with a chuckle, adding the runes to the sketch before turning it back to her. "Inscription on both sides or just one?" The runes flowed in to the already laid design, giving it a ghostly feel. As soon as the design was done, he reached across the table to grab a waiting block of steel to begin heating it up. "I can probably finish this while your here if you want." A little bit of work would do him some good in between cleaning and repairs.

Seph smirked and nodded, it was quite wicked, the spell itself was ominous, but only she and he would know what the runes said. When he asked if she wanted it on both sides or just the one, she thought for a moment. Spells have power only in balance. What is sent out comes back in threes. "Both sounds good." She said as she watched him with the drawing and then nodded at the finished design.
When he asked if she wanted to stay she smirked just a little, tempted to say something almost teasing but instead she went for polite. "I don't want to get in your way, but if you think I won't, it would be interesting to see another at their job."

"Nah. People watch me work all the time. It's part of the whole custom thing. Gets people in and out quick so they can go on with their lives." He explained, moving to the more shielded part of the work bench. The only thing he required was for the customers to stay on the other side of the barrier. The steel could reach scorching temperatures, enough to melt another person's skin. He refused to be responsible for something like that.
"There's a chair over there if you want to sit. It can be a long process, the getting started part. Just don't come behind the bench or get too close to the shielded area. The steel is too hot and it gets uncomfortable to anyone who isn't heat resistant." Moving his hands around the molten metal, he started to shape it before it could get too hot to handle. Having to wait for it to set again would be highly unpleasant.

Seph gave a nod as she glanced over towards the chair he had mentioned and then back to the area where he was beginning to work. She moved towards the area, keeping the shield between them. At first she just watched, choosing not to sit for a bit so that she could see everything that was going on, well everything she could. Then her phone chirped and she pulled it from her pocket.
It was then that she took a seat, chatting in a hushed tone on the phone. Mostly business. Talking to some of the contractors that were busy trying to gip her out of her share of things. Though she kept her voice hushed, it was clear that she was getting angry. Then she growled low and hung up, nearly throwing her phone before she stood up and began to pace about.

By the time his customer finished the conversation, Tris was partially done with the handle and working his way down the blade itself. The general shape was something he could do with only his hands, no tools required. Once he got to the fine detail work, then he would pull out the hammers and tongs in a vague attempt to be more professional. Not that his work wasn't excellent, he just didn't use traditional methods by any means. On occasion, it had made his customers very nervous to watch him work.
"Bad call?" He asked with a knowing smile. Anyone who ran a business knew that look, the one that let the world know someone had attempted to screw with your operations.

Seph halted in her pacing and glanced towards the male, noting how he was working the metal with his hands instead of with tools. It was rather amusing to see, and anger aside, she gave a slight smirk and nodded to him, taking a deep and calming breath before speaking "You could say that... I swear, some men need to get it through their heads that women have been working for themselves for decades now. I may look sweet and innocent, but stupid I am not." She said with a smirk that turned a bit sinister. Being a child of Hecate tend to bring out the darkness hidden away in Seph's personality. "One of these days they will learn not to mess with me."

Tristan returned her grin. She reminded him a bit of AB, though he was generally justified whenever he tried to step in there. If she ran a normal bar, then breaking up fights would be the least of his worries. These super powered idiots on the other hand...well, boyfriends still got to be a little chivalrous, right? "The benefits of working alone are endless." He mused, finishing up his work on the crude hilt and moving towards the blade. "We don't tend to have many problems like that around here. Everyone's there own boss for the most part. Not much competition either."
