The black and white rules of the Garrison were great, but sometimes, a hunter needed to actually hunt. Out in the field, Cass was able to play with the most dangerous game of all: the titans and egyptians. Here though, things were quiet. That was why she made her way to the woods today, to actually hunt for her food instead of buying it from the food court like so many others did. While she was fine with that practice from day to day, it wasn't natural. Not for a hunter.
Catching sight of a rabbit not far of from where she had been walking, Cass summoned her bow and began stalking it down the trail. She wasn't particularly fond of small game, but it wouldn't hurt her and the chase was always exciting. For a moment, she wished that one of her fellow hunters had come with her for the day, but they were fewer and far between now. She doubted that many of them would have answered had she called in the first place, though she did quite enjoy having them by her side.

Dani sat silently in the tree she had climbed earlier, after the battle she had found herself needing to get out more and more, not wanting to be in her home. It felt... Constraining on her. She closed her eyes and just listened to nature around her, birds singing or fluttering about, animals scurrying about, and the occasional growl or grunt from one of the monsters that were in the forest as well.
Then she heard walking, not a monster or animal, actual walking. She glanced down and noticed the woman walking. She was tempted just to let her be, but when she spotted the girl summon her bow, she smiled a little and got up, claiming down from the tree. "Hey there!" She called out but still kept her voice quiet.

"Hey!" Cass called back, letting the bow go back to where she had called it from, before turning to face the younger girl. "Sorry, I didn't see you or I would've stopped sooner." Though Cass had come here to be alone in her element, a little bit of company never hurt. She was a pack animal at the end of the day, which was why she had joined the hunt in the first place. She missed the old days, before the island. Then again, she also had the Intelligence people now, and she had not doubt that Artemis would some day come for her hunters again.

Dani smiled a bit and glanced back to where she was sitting "I was hanging out in the tree over there, had you seen me that might scare me." She said with an easy smile. "I'm not disturbing you am I? I know this is a good place to just enjoy a good hunt, relax from what happened a while back." She said, meaning the battle. She had no idea if this huntress had been in it, hell, she didn't even know there was another like her. She really did need to get out more.

Cass smiled brightly, approaching the unfamiliar girl slowly, even though she normally would have walked right up to her. "No, you aren't bothering me. I wanted to call someone up to hunt with me, but the other girls are busy doing their own thing. Artemis sends us to an island and suddenly they all scatter to the winds." Rolling her eyes, she almost didn't expect the girl to get the joke. The other demi-gods didn't treat the hunters differently from day to day, to the extent that they almost forgot they existed. They were just regular demi-gods to most people on the island.

Dani smiled, glad that she wasn't bothering the woman, hell, this was the first time that she was hearing that there was more than just the two of them on the island. She gave a soft laugh after a moment and said "Well, at least their is one good thing, it's an island... They can't go far." She said with another soft laugh and then glanced around. "So you were on a hunt? I hope I didn't scare away something you were going for." She said suddenly worried that she might have done so.

Cass shook her head and laughed at the thought. "I was, but it wasn't anything serious. I'm out here for the chase, pure and simple." The girl looked a little worse for the wear, but not like she needed assistance. Still, something about the way she was acting slightly worried Cass. "Would you like to join me? Hunting is always better with a partner and the game here is fairly plentiful. Most of the other Concordians don't hunt. Stupid food court."

"If you don't mind, then of course I'll join you. I've actually never hunted with another. I know Artemis is famous for her hunting parties, but I have yet to be in one." She said as she called her bow to her, but instead of it appearing in her hand, it appeared on her back along with her quiver. As Cass mentioned the food court, Dani gave a little shutter.
"My parents would turn over in their graves if I ever put processed food in my system. If I'm not hunting for meat I'm at the farmers market buying their crops." She said with a smile, her hippy parents, she missed them. She missed her entire family. She then pulled herself out if her thoughts and looked to the other huntress. "I think I heard some bigger game down this way, if you want to take down something bigger than Peter Cottontail." She teased a little.

Cass laughed, following the girl's lead towards bigger game. "The hunting parties used to be huge, back in the day. After the attack we all got shipped off here. No explanation, no reason why. When you become a pack animal, it's hard to stop being one." Noticing the tracks of a rather large animal, Cass knelt down to look at them closer. If she was right, they were fairly fresh. It had been a while, but she was sure they could catch up. "How come you never came looking for us? We would've loved to have you!" Then again, why hadn't artemis let them know she was just dumping another hunter on the island? Gods were weird.

Dani blinked for a moment at the girl, thinking about what she had said. Why hadn't she gone looking? Well she knew why. She had thought she had been alone on this island, she also didn't feel quite at peace with the idea of being on an island that most the people were born to be on and she, she wasn't born to a god. She then shook herself out of her thoughts, looking on as she tracked what Dani could tell was a rather large bear.
"I truthfully didn't know there were more of us on the island or I would have. I'm Danisande, by the way." She said with a soft smile before she looked off in the direction of the tracks. "My family used to just call me Dani though." She said with a slightly far off tone.

"Well, Dani, I'm Cassandra. You can call me Cass though." Heading in the direction the tracks indicated, Cass though to herself for a moment. Maybe she should offer to have Dani come back with her. Hunters were supposed to be together, after all. That was the point of their vows. "So, where have you been living Dani?" She asked with a curious tone. This girl was her sister in arms, even if they had only just met. It was Cass' duty as an older hunter to make sure Dani was at least being taken care of.

"It's nice to meet you, Cass." She said as they both started after the tracks on the ground, her eyes constantly moving from one side to the other, her head almost always on a swivel. She wasn't always as alert as she should be when she came here, but after that battle that had happened only days before, she wasn't about to be caught off guard by anything now, be it a monster, an enemy, or a bear. She turned her attention to Cass as she asked about where she had been living and gave a little bit of a shrug. "I have been living in the Olympian apartments."

"Hmmm. That's a nice place. If you ever need somewhere to hang out, I'm at the Garrison barracks." Sure, she could've moved out a long time ago and gotten a nicer apartment, but what was the use? Cass half expected artemis to show up any day now to collect the girls, not to mention work kept her away too much. It was just ridiculous to waste that kind of space when she wouldn't use it. Then again, she was old. Almost too old.

"The Garrison? I thought that was just for those that worked with them?" She said, stopping for a moment and leaning down so that she could brush some leaves that had fluttered owner the tracks away, inspecting them a bit more. Something about it didn't seem right. Then she glanced back up at the girl, "I was under the impression of that anyways, but I may take you up on that." She said softly and then looked back to the tracks again. Something wasn't sitting right.

Kneeling down beside the tracks, Cass noticed the same thing Dani seemed to be stuck on. Whatever they were following wasn't a big game animal. "The barracks are for Garrison people, but that doesn't mean we can't have visitors." That would've been miserable. Then again, she probably still would've been okay with it. It's not like she was on the island often anyways. "What is it?" Cass asked, gesturing towards the tracks. Of course, she had a vague idea, but she wanted to see what Dani came up with. If she hadn't been on an actual hunt with Artemis before, Cass wanted to see how much she knew about their more...supernatural prey.
