Mel had left with Taze and yet he couldn't fall asleep, he couldn't seem to focus on anything and after several minutes or hours he couldn't really tell which, he pulled him self out of the bed and grabbed his IV bags and made sure they were in place on the wheelchair. Carefully he lowered himself into it with his leg extended. Taking hold of the wheels he began to slowly wheel himself out of his room and towards the elevator, he needed to get outside and if he tried going out the front door someone was sure to see him.
Once he knew that the coast was clear he made his move to the elevator and entered it, pressing the button for the roof. He needed some fresh air desperately and the only way he could be sure no one would find him right away was to head to the roof, or rather as close to the roof as he could go before he was caught. As he watched the numbers increase he thought about the brief conversation with Mel, and how she had left. The friendship was over, at least for now, and he didn't even want to think about what had happened with Braxton. Right now all he knew for sure was that, Nathan and Aza at this moment were life lines. The little bell ring and the doors opening to the roof surprised him and yet the fresh air was calming. Once he rolled out though he realized he was not alone and sighed, knowing he would have to go back now.

Rowen was laying down in one of the most dangerous places on the planet. Her back was pressed against the ledge was lined the edge of the hospital roof. If she rolled one way, she would uncomfortably land on the gritty roof of the building, but if she rolled the other way, she would fall four stories to her death, which actually didn't sound too terrible at the moment. A whispy ghost hovered over the side that would send her to her doom, badgering her to go see someone else int he hospital. And somehow, the one voice didn't bother Rowen. It was when she was inside and the voices her everywhere, full of the sadness and confusion of recent death. Hospitals were her own personal Tartarus.
When she heard the elevator ding, she didn't even react at first. But then she turned her blonde head to see who it was. Sitting up carefully, she turned so her legs dangled over the drop and her back was turned on the person in the wheelchair, "Been a while, hasn't it Mr. Tyrell?" She asked, turning her head lightly so he could see her smile.

Dante looked at the young woman who sat on the edge and breathed a sigh of relief for the most part, Rowen wasn't a member of the hospital staff and so had no real reason to force him back to his room just yet. "That it has Miss James, though you can call me Dante. Why are you up here? Escaping your nurse or the pain inside these walls?" Now that he thought about it he realized that in a sense he was doing both though you could say he was almost running away. To much had happened inside those walls and he didn't want to be in there right now. Closing his eyes he took another deep breath wincing as his chest moved.
Nathan was a great doctor and with his powers he had helped to keep him alive but he wasn't a miracle worker and Dante knew he had to let his body heal on its own. "If you would like to be left alone I can leave, I just needed my own escape and as you can see it won't come often." He rolled a little closer to her and the edge before he locked the wheels in place, though he did think it would be easier to stop the pain he was feeling, this wasn't the time or place for it. Let alone the way he wanted to go. He turned to look at Rowen and realized she didn't look very good at all, the stress around the island and all this death probably was worse for her than all his injuries combined. "Are you alright?"

Pursing her lips, Rowen was disappointed the her stress had been so obvious. When she had looked in the mirror that morning, she had seen a woman paler than her, with hair that hadn't been brushed in a few days. She had seen someone who had lost weight and was a little shaky from the stress of her power. But now it was confirmed that other people could see that too. Looking over her shoulder at him, she shrugged, "I'll be fine. They won't hang around forever." She sighed and shooed off a second spirit that sat next to her and started trying to push her off the roof. The cool, misty hands of the ghost passed through her but the intention was there and it almost hurt Rowen worse than if she had just fallen and died.

He nodded in response but knew that couldn't be easy waiting for that to happen. Dante looked out over the island from his perch and even in the darkness could see the struggle they would have to rebuild. His place would be to help in that rebuild but for now he had to focus on healing himself, "Do you want to talk? I don't think I will be at the garrison anytime soon." he chuckled at that he might not have a position when he gets back, though he reports to Owain directly Braxton was his commanding officer as well and if Mel didn't trust him then Braxton definitely wouldn't. "To be honest I might be looking for a new position anyway. So I definitely have some time, at least until I am caught up here but the nurse or my brother.

Rowen tilted her head to the side and smiled sadly, "I would love to talk about anything but ghosts." She looked down at him in the wheel chair and pointed, "Tell me what happened, for example." Shaking her head she continued, "And to your face. You look like you got hit by a hundred rocks directly in the nose." She couldn't help but laugh at her awkward statement.

What happened to him, well that was a long story and one that he didn't fully know as he was passed out for some of it, well he could share what he knew. "Most of it was minor wounds from the attack, a fair bit was healed by my brother during the fighting until I got here. As the fighting increased at the hospital a friend was attacked, or I thought she was at the time and so I fired two arrows at the attacker. She stood moved into the line of fire, I then was stabbed when I was distracted trying to get to her." Taking a break he turned away from Rowen.
After a few moments he continued, "After I disposed of that member of Camp Bast I was tackled by Colonel Wyatt and he started to punch me, I barely managed to keep from blacking out and I don't know how it was possible other than Colonel Wyatt stopped. I got up and tried to get closer to her but the man I thought was the enemy stepped in front of her and attacked me with his staff, my ribs will take a while to heal. I forced myself to stand that though it didn't last long a spear impaled my thigh and I could barely move, three more arrows to the back and I was down for good." Turning back to her he tried to smile but knew it was rather false.
"Much of what happened next is a blur other than some how I was brought into the ER and my brother and another friend of mine worked to save my life. So I guess you could say the fates kept me from appearing to you as one of your ghosts, though I don't know why I was spared." Sighing he added, "Well, I did warn you... it was a long story."

Rowen shook her head in shock as he told his tale of betrayal and bad timing. She turned around and hopped off the edge of the roof, moving close enough to reach out and touch his face. She cupped his cheek with her hand and sighed, "Just checking that you weren't one of those ghosts in denial." She laughed and sat on the railing again, this time facing Dante, "Seriously, though, how lucky are you to have survived that? This Colonel Wyatt sounds like a complete nut job." She rolled her eyes and looked at him sympathetically.

Dante started to laugh but soon his laughter turned into moans as his ribs shifted a bit."Colonel Wyatt is a great leader and warrior. He was also a good friend, I think he is starting to realize that he is in love with my friend and when I was the one who nearly killed her he snapped. She lived so that is good news, but I have lost her trust and if I lost hers then I definitely lost Colonel Wyatt's." He smiled sadly knowing that there was a good chance he might face a transfer if he couldn't earn the trust back. Dante wasn't sure what he would do if he lost his position as it was all he had really been doing for the last five years. Sighing he turned back, "In my friends case the man I thought was attacking her was actually trying to protect her. Turns out the younger brother she thought was dead these last five years is actually alive and I would have killed her had it not been for her stepping in my arrows path."

Rowen squinted her eyes in thought for a moment and shook her head, "You know, I just don't see why you are so upset that this Wyatt person doesn't trust you." She said in a confused voice, "If he were such a great leader, he would have kept his cool in the heat of battle and focused on the important things, like helping innocents on the island. Not beating up one of our own because they reacted to a situation they thought was dangerous." She sighed, "But then again, I know nothing of battles. But it sounds to me like you are burdened with the brunt of his crazy pants reactions." She laughed and shook her head, "If you, at the time, thought you were doing the right thing, you have nothing to be ashamed of."

"I may have thought I was doing the right thing but I nearly killed someone I care about." Mel was his best friend and someone he had felt he could always talk to but now, all that was gone in an instant. "We both made that mistake, as soon as I hit her nothing in the battle mattered. I had to make sure she was alive, though in the process I nearly got myself killed. Thanks for checking by the way." A small smile graced his features and he looked at Rowen, "Enough about me though, last time I saw you was when you were on your balcony. How did you get here?

Frowning, Rowen shrugged, "Honestly? No clue." She laughed brightly and looked at the ground, "I fell from my balcony and landed in a bush I guess. I was unconscious there until someone found me the next day and brought me to the hospital. I woke up earlier today and was told I'm lucky I just have a bump on my head." She laughed again and sighed, breathing in the night air that felt cool against her skin, "I don't know how lucky I feel, but I guess I appreciate them saying so."

Dante looked her over for the first time, really looking to see if there was anything wrong or if there was any sign of injury, he couldn't see anything. Reaching out through the pain he took hold of her hand, "You were lucky, but you are also strong. From what I remember you telling me about your power not all the spirits you see are kind and I know this building would be full of them. Hell there could be some who wish I joined them rather than getting the chance to recover." His breathing came in small short breaths and he sound realized he had to sit up straight again, letting go of her hand he leaned back smiling. "I am glad you are safe and didn't get hurt.

Rowen nodded, "Well thank you, Mr. Tyrell." She said nicely, taking in a deep breath and looking over her shoulder at the little girl who had appeared above the trees. She was probably sixteen or seventeen and blonde. She looked sad, which didn't suit her features at all. She looked like the kind of girl who would have been happy all the time. It made Rowen frown.

When he saw her frown he wished he had the strength to stand and wrap his arms around her and let her know that it would be alright, things were sure to get better. In that moment he didn't want to think about everything going on around him, he didn't want to think about everything in his life other than this moment, but he was to weak to do anything. Sighing he said, "If there is anything I can do to help... I want you to know you don't have to always be so strong on your own." Smiling softly he added, "You have helped me tonight, and you don't have have to be alone if you don't want to be, and now I must sound like a nutter."
