Sitting down in Zane's couch, Melanie thought about it for a moment. It made sense, but it also made things feel more final. It was almost like this new guy was attempting to take her brother's place and they didn't even know him yet. Fighting down the sick feeling in her stomach, she attempted to convince herself that this is what Zane would want. "As long as there are no other arguments, I'm fine with it. Aimery and Alex probably won't care, but Ethan might a little, hes pretty easy going though." Catching sight of Zane's jacket laying across a chair, Melanie stood to pick it up before moving it to a coat rack. "We haven't cleare anything out yet, but I can help you with that when I get back from work tonight."

Gage looked around the quarters, "That is unnecessary, thank you." He said flatly, looking at the smaller girl, "What was he like with you?" He asked, trying to make himself not care, but failing. Something about the thought of Zane living here felt strange. They had been alone together for so long in a worst of conditions, living in such a lavish place seemed...wrong? Maybe that wasn't the right word. Out of character.

"We were complicated." Melanie conceeded as she walked away from the rack to face Gage again. "he was my older brother and I loved him very much. I would like to believe that he felt the same, even if we had a tendency to annoy each other some times. However, my job involves quite a bit of secrets and necessary lying. Assuming you knew about his power, you'd understand why we clashed sometimes." How else could she describe Zane? She knew she wasn't his favorite person in the world, but in her mind something about him had been almost indestructible. He was the last brother she ever thought to worry about, and the second one to go.

Gage couldn't keep the grin from his face, "Yeah. He sure hated liars." Looking at Melanie sympathetically, he sat down next to her and tossed the bag on a chair, "I sure he felt the same way about you. He was weird, but not cruel." Looking down at his hands, Gage curled them both into fists and shook his head, "I knew how he was going to die, but never told him." Narrowing his eyes at Melanie, Gage said swiftly, "It was fast. He didn't suffer." He lied Zane had laid in a pile of flaming rubble burning to death for over twenty minutes, but maybe she would feel better if she thought it was fast.

Melanie frowned at Gage for a moment. How had he known? Unless it was one of the weirder Hades powers...well, Mel was a little suspicious at least. "I would like to believe that Zane didn't know what hit him, but that doesn't change the fact that he died alone in there. No one deserves that, especially not him. He was one of the bravest men that I've ever known. Still is." Looking down at her hands, Melanie shook her head to chase the darker thoughts away that were slowly but surely manifesting there. They didn't need anything like that, especially not now.
"How did you know that though? Just out of curiosity." Normally she wouldn't have asked and just went to Immigration to pull the files. This one she wanted to hear for herself.
