Life is Good [ Jon ]

That smile was almost as surprising as the rain.

He didn't think it could get any bigger, and to be honest it was almost freaking him out. How could anyone possibly be that happy when there was so much insanity going on around? Well, Jon was more optimistic than he should be in his life situation. He found himself making morbid jokes about his life. So, he understood the smiling to an extent.

As she yelped in surprise and suddenly began to laugh, Ethan found himself laughing too. He was grateful that she hid her camera, not wanting the thing to get ruined.

Suddenly, his hand was being gently tugged and his arm was being lifted in the air, her spinning underneath it. It was like a weird rom com movie. What, wasn't his life supposed to be a dark comedy? What was going on? His mother probably thought she was darn funny as hades right now.

"Yeah. Zeus," he managed to blurt out before she was pulling him under the awning. Stumbling into a closeness with her, Jon felt his hands getting sweaty, even in the rain. "He's probably doing my mum a favor. She prefers me to be miserable," he said bitterly, looking out into the sky. But... "actually, rain isn't that bad right?" he added.

It's okay, Jon! She dropped his hand as soon as they were safe beneath the awning, and she proceeded to wring her shirt out, leaning heavily forward so the water wouldn't soak her camera before the device was taken out. A breeze made things a bit chilly, and she rubbed her hands up and down her arms a couple times before stopping and giving him a curious look.

"Aww, that's no good. Why would a mother want her son to be miserable..?"

She frowned, looking at him earnestly.

"But, no, rain isn't bad~ That was just surprising~"

...oh, her hair, too! She gave a little smile and lifted her hands up to squeeze the water away and down the strands of her hair with a soft sigh. Whewf!

"Aw, having the mother of Chaos isn't exactly the most pleasant experience," he said, hoping that explained enough. His mother liked things to be crazy and for things not to work out, and who better to work on that with then her own, adorable, depressing son, eh?

"Yeah... Is the camera okay?" he asked, gesturing to the lump underneath her fabrics where she was protecting the thing.
