Flowers, check. Candles, check. Texting Ember Lynn to make sure she was actually coming back tonight, not so much. Dylan had almost forgotten that Ember Lynn had been handling the crop fire crisis and the resulting fall out for the past two days and that he wasn't entirely sure that she would even be able to return. Of course, he had called her earlier that day and things had seemed to be winding down. Maybe if he was lucky she would already be on her way back.
DB: Hello Love. Will you be heading home tonight?
There. He had done it. Now if he could just wait patiently for her to get here or reply. Maybe he would go sit on the beach and wait instead of pacing a hole into the floor. That would be counterproductive to say the least. Besides, the ocean was calming and the sun was setting. The view was already breath taking. Yes, he would take his phone out there and wait for her to respond.

Finally, the fire crisis was handled. It turned out that the crop wasn't as badly damaged as was originally portrayed by the poor senator. Emmy tried to keep in mind that it was his first year in office and he hadn't quite gotten the hang of it yet, but there didn't stop her from the full on rage fest that was going down in her brain. She exited the office building and, just as she was heading down the stairs, received a text from Dylan. She opened it with a click and smiled. EMMY: be there soon <3She dropped the phone into her water proof purse and zipped it closed before kicking out of her black stilettos and letting her bare feet touch the cool surface of the water. It swelled under her toes making it simple enough for her to walk across the surface. She was wearing a fluttery white thing that she swore was a dress but that Masin thought was more of a long shirt. The wind whipped it around and for a moment Ember Lynn thought she might have a Marilyn Monroe moment. Fortunately, the wind calmed and she didn't need to fight with the fabric. It ended up swaying around her legs sweetly. She was almost hope when she noticed the stars twinkling off the surface of the ocean. It was making the shiny sliver bracelets she wore shimmer like diamonds and she couldn't help but stop a little bit off shore to admire the serene beauty of the calm ocean. Emmy's Outfit

Dylan was still sitting outside whenever Ember Lynn came into view. For a moment, he thought she had seen him. Whenever she stopped to admire the view, he couldn't help but watch her. She was stunning in the moonlight, standing on the water while it shimmered and danced around her. Deciding to leave her alone with the ocean for a while, Dylan slipped silently back into the house and lit the candles, waiting for her to come inside.

Ember Lynn sighed and turned toward the house, willing the water to push her movements so that she could get home to him sooner. Before she knew it, she was standing at the doorway and hesitating to pull the door open. Was he expecting her? It was true that she had texted him but did he intend for her to simply walk in or was she meant to knock?
Ember Lynn rolled her eyes, annoyed with her own thoughts. She turned the nob and pushed her way through the door. Her eyes widened and she dropped her shoes the to floor in shock, "Dylan?" She asked, squinting to see his face through the glittering candle that filled the room.

"In here Love." Dylan called from inside the once empty room that was now Ember Lynn's office. Seeing her squint in the light of the candles, Dylan decided that maybe he had over done it just slightly. He wasn't quite used to having a live in girlfriend, much less one that he was willing to go to these lengths for. Almost as soon as Ember Lynn left to deal with the fire incident, Dylan had rounded up several of his students to help him set up the office. Of course, he didn't tell them who it was for and under no circumstances did he allow them to handle the few things that he brought back from her office at the other house, but a little bit of bribery never hurt his students. It kept them out of trouble for a little while and he would get to surprise Em whenever she finally made it home. His actions were completely justified in his head, at least for now.

His voice melted against her ears like syrup or cotton candy. it was the sweetest noise she had ever heard. Of course, she had heard it before but this time she was living with him and had just come home from an extended stay on Hotel de la Office, which is not the most comfortable arrangement for sure. She followed the sound like a fly to a trap, tilted her head to the side as she walked slowly across the floor, her bare feet making a slight thud with each foot fall. She pushed her long hair over her shoulder and let it fall down her back as she stepped into the empty room next to Dylan's office.
No words. At all.
Her eyes found his blue ones and before she could even react she was in his arms and kissing him. Taking a breath to breathe, Ember Lynn finally looked around the room. The office was also glittering with candles and shining like a new drachma, all gold and beautiful. The walls were perfect, matching his eyes exactly with a large window that overlooked her beloved ocean, "Dylan..." Her voice was coarse from overuse the past few days as she spun around trying to take in the perfect sight. She saw her own reflection in the mirror that hung above a shelf behind her clean white desk, "Dylan..." Without being able to articulate her words, she knew Dylan would be worried if she liked it or not. She let a beautiful smile spread across her face as she approached him again, "Dylan..." Her voice grew more seductive with each step she took toward him.

Closing the space between them in a few short steps, Dylan smiled lightly before wrapping one arm around Ember Lynn's waist. Placing his free hand behind her head, Dylan kissed her softly before pulling away to look at her closer. Ember Lynn looked more exhausted than he had ever seen her, but at the same time more serene, even happy. "Well, I'll take that as a job well done." He teased, before leaning down to kiss her again, harder this time.
"What do you say about that swim now love?" He said between kisses. "After all, this is a secluded beach."

He knew exactly what made her tick. Who else would be able to know that she would be completely captured by the idea of something as simple as swimming? She was almost shaking with anticipation as she nodded and bolted from the room, wondering if Dylan had brought over any of her clothes when he raided her house for her desk and other office furniture. If not, she would just swim in her bra. It was cute anyway.

Dylan jogged in the direction of the bedroom, where he had brought as many of Ember Lynn's clothes as he could before realizing that he was going to need to acquire more storage space. He was used to living alone, and having to share the closet was much more daunting than he had originally thought. "If you want to change, a few of your clothes are over here Em." He said, gesturing towards the set of drawers that he had emptied for her earlier that day. Grabbing a simple set of trunks from his top drawer, he quickly shed his layers and then headed out into the living room to give Ember Lynn some privacy for a moment.

The future suddenly seemed so exciting. Ember Lynn pulled her dress off and tossed it on the floor without much thought. She stared at the wall as she tip toed across the room and opened up the drawers that Dylan had motioned to only moments before. She found her bathing suit mixed in with her underwear and couldn't help but laugh a little bit at how cute it was that he couldn't really tell the difference. What a guy thing to do.
Emmy's bathing suit was a one piece, which normally surprised people when she told them. But if she was thinking practically, the water was too much for a little piece of cloth with very little support to handle. So her white suit was all one piece, pretty tight for good traction, and had cute, angular cut outs along each side.
Emmy turned around and looked at herself in a mirror, smoothing out the sides of her suit before she opened the door and joined Dylan in the living room. She smiled and lifted her arms slightly in a "TA-DA" kind of motion and turned so her could see her better, "What do you think, babe?"

Dylan was stunned for a moment, taking in Ember Lynn's outfit of choice slowly. His mouth opened and closed a few times before he finally managed to speak. "Radiant as always darling." The complement was hardly enough, but he wasn't quite sure he knew a word in any language who could sum it up better.
Reaching his hand out towards Ember Lynn, Dylan moved towards the door. The door was already open, which he had done while she had been getting ready. The moon was high and the waters were calm as he stepped out the entrance and onto the sand below. "By the way, there are flowers in there somewhere but we were too occupied to get around to those." He relayed with a grin, picking up his pace and running into the water shortly after finishing his message.

With a sigh and a smile Ember Lynn spun around, throwing sand in all directions with every step. She took in a deep breath, once again in awe by the sheer beauty of the night. The air was warm against her bare legs and she couldn’t wait to float on her back in the ocean. It was like heaven had descended upon Concordia that evening. Ember Lynn’s was about knee deep in the ocean when Dylan spoke, “Flowers?” She smiled, “Oh they will be there when we go back. Besides,” She jumped into his arms, trying to knock him into the water but failing miserably. Instead it just seemed like an overly affectionate hug, “It’s the thought that counts.” She winked and pulled him with her back into the ocean.
The water was cool as it lapped around her knees. Ember Lynn turned so her back face the horizon and fell so that the water caught her on the surface. Her blonde hair was floating all around her face along a strangely flat surface of the water that the waves seemed to avoid completely. She took in a deep breath, “What a perfect night, don’t you think?” She asked sweetly.

"Absolutely." That was all Dylan managed to say before joining Ember Lynn in the water. It was much colder than he had originally anticipated, but he didn't mind. The waves washed over his head as he floated slightly away from Emmy and he couldn't quite see how she was keeping herself afloat. Then again, she was a hydrokenetic so she was probably cheating.
After a few more minutes of trying to remain afloat, Dylan finally gave up and swam lazily closer to Ember Lynn. The night was beautiful, but if he was completely honest he was more than ready to become reacquainted with a shower and a bed.
