The sound of a blade clanging up against the training dummy echoed through the rather empty training area. Tere grunted a little as she spun on her heal and brought her sword around in a circle as if she were intent on taking off some monster's head. After the day in the woods, going up against the minotaurs and the cyclopes Tere realized that she wasn't used to fighting on land anymore. It had been just too long so she came out here in dire need of a practice or too. And like she had been that day that she ran into Finley, she was armed to the teeth again, intent on making sure that she could move between weapons with ease and grace so that next time, she wouldn't be caught the way she had been.
She then brought her other hand towards the dummy holding one of her kriss bladed daggers, she was usually a dual-handed fighter. It came from the time that she learned how to fight with her sai. One hand always the offensive, the other always on the defense. From then on, she realized the power that came from knowing how to use both hands at once in a battle. Of course, it didn't always work, there were just some weapons that needed both hands but others, like her cutlass and her dagger, made a good dual set for her.
After a few more swings with both sword and dagger, she stopped and took a breath. Fighting on the ground with her weapons was far different from fighting at sea with her powers. Powers that unless she really, really concentrated, only worked when she was singing.

Braxton was leaning against a stone wall to the side of the practice fields. He often came here to practice or watch his underlings practice. At the moment, he watched at Teresia Sine finished her assault on the dummy and shook his head, "Think you can do that to a real person, or is your specialty inanimate objects?" He asked with a serious, even voice.

Tere glanced over at the guy by the column and arched her brow as she slid her dagger back into its spot and the cutlass back into it's scabbard. "I seemed to do pretty well against a war child a while back. But you are welcome to try me... or are you as scared to fight me as you are to dance with me?" She said with a saucy smirk, moving more towards the center of the field, one hand resting on the hilt of her sword. She had several weapons clearly seen, her cutlass, a rapier, the kriss dagger was hidden behind her back but she had two other daggers strapped to her side, in her boots were where she kept her sai, she had her two flintlock pistols as well as throwing stars that like her kriss was hidden all around her body. The girl was a walking armory.

Braxton's jaw hardening into a line as he gritted his teeth, "Agent Sine, I don't care how great you think you are, in the Garrison I am your commanding officer and you will show me respect." He crossed his arms in front of his chest. He hadn't brought any weapons to the practice fields but even so Braxton was certain he could beat her.

Tere arched her brow for a moment and then licked her lips. "Huh, funny, I could have sworn that Mel was my commanding officer. And while I may be an agent for her, I am still a captain. I may just be the Captain of a ship, but I'm also a force to be reckoned with at sea." She said as she placed her hands on her hips now, one finger resting near one of her pistols. "So if you insist on calling me by my last name it will be Captain Sine... thank you very much."

Braxton cocked an eye brow, "Listen, pirate girl..." He rolled his eyes, "You obviously haven't spent a long time in a legal military system, but there is a chain of Command and I am pretty near the top." He gestured to the arena around him, "And, in case you haven't noticed, you can't even see the ocean from here." Shaking his head and moved toward the middle of the arena, "So your advantage is irrelevant, it would seem." He narrowed his eyes and shook his head again, not even bothering to refer to her as Captain. He would need to talk to Melanie about teaching this girl how the Garrison works. She isn't in charge here and never will be if she walks around with that attitude.

Tere rolled her eyes, not giving one rats ass about what this jerk was currently saying. It was all white noise to her. She pulled her sword and turned back to the dummy as if he wasn't even there and once again began practicing on the thing. Though this time, her swings were stronger, taking a bit more of her energy. It was clear that she was angry... and as she continued to fight the training dummy, she began to hum softly, her hair beginning to lift like a cloak as she moved about. Dancing on the quickly growing force of the wind.

Braxton didn't notice the sudden shift in the weather. He was too busy screwing his face into a scowl and wondering what to do with this insolent girl. SHaking his head, he grumbled, "You are insane." He didn't know exactly how to bring the situation up to Melanie, but it would defnitely need to be done. He pulled out his phone and shot his friend...person a text message.
Brax: One of your people needs to be talked to. -COLONEL Wyatt (sent to @accaila)
He assumed Mel wouldn't take kindly to his obvious emphasis on his rank. He looked back at the woman and the tatters if the dummy, "And destroying a dummy prove what exactly?" He asked, crossed his arms over his chest again.

She ignored the "insane" comment, but only because insanity was relative. Sure, she did some insane things some times. She continued to hum her little song and as she did, the wind picked up more, cumulus clouds began to form off in the distance, creeping slowly closer with the wind. Then his next question caused her to stop and look at him.
"It's not supposed to 'prove' anything, that's why it's a 'practice' dummy." She would expect a 'big' 'bad' Coloneral to know that. But, guess looks are decieving. Then she stood there, a hand on her hip, "So unless you have something that is actually helpful to contribute, I've had my fill of assholes for the day, thank you, sir." She said, nearly hissing the word 'sir'.

Yeah. It was pretty much decided. The jury was in and the verdict was 'crazy'. Braxton rolled his eyes and reached his hand straight up in the air like he wanted to get picked by the teacher to answer a question. He quickly balled his hand into a fist and yanking down hard, producing a long, thin, shining steel speak with a spark point at the end. He pulled it back and tossed it across the field, watching as it sailing over Tere's shoulder and hit the dummy she had been working on. The dummy fell to the ground, unable to withstand any more assault. As the dummy hit the ground, the spear disappeared with a silent magical 'poof'. He turned like he was going to leave, not bothering to even say anything about her actions.

Tere felt the blade before she saw it, and dodged despite not needing to, it seems the ass wasn't trying to kill her (yet), but just show off. "Nice trick..." she called out and then as she turned to go to another dummy, she pulled out a dagger and tossed it in the air to catch it by the blade before throwing it in the jerk's direction, watching it implant itself in the wall beside him. Then she went to work on the new dummy as if nothing happened.

He didn't even flinch as the blade embedded itself in the wooden wall near his head. He just watched the girl hack at another dummy like he was some sort of bad ass. Of course, he wasn't impressed, to be honest. He crossed him arm in front of his chest and leaned against the wall casually, like he was judging her, which he was, "If you swing so hard you're less likely to correct any mistakes you make. You leave yourself open to injury." He said in a calm, flat voice, pretty sure that she wouldn't take it as the constructive criticism it was meant to be.

She stopped mid-swing and looked over at him. Teresia had trained with many fighters over the years, she was rambunctious but she had to be when one was fighting on a ship. She had yet to be hurt bad on her ship, it was only when she came to this island that she got pretty banged up, but then, she had just found out a guy she liked and had... She stopped her thoughts and shook her head. Her mind hadn't been clear, that much was what lead her into trouble.
"And what exactly makes you an expert? I've been fighting since I was 13, I think I know how to handle myself well enough." She said, finishing her swing which wasn't at all a hack, but a smooth slice. Her other hand came at the dummy with an equally smooth thrust that hit the heart of the dummy. He also didn't seem to get the reason that a blade as heavy as her cutlass was, it was made for harder swings and hits. The rapier was where she showed more finess.

He scoffed and rolled his eyes, "What makes me an expert? Seriously?" he shook his head and let out a heavy sigh, "Maybe my mother being the Goddess of Destructive Warfare." He raised his eye brows and spoke so his words dripping heavy with sarcasm, "But you're probably right, what could I possibly know of warfare? It is ridiculous to accept help from someone with so little fighting experience and heritage." Shaking his head again, he considered leaving because this girl was obviously completely stubborn and probably an idiot.

She sighed and looked at the guy, she was so very tempted to just shoot the guy and be done with him. Seriously. He was a child compared to her. "Excuse me then, sir... I have somewhere else to be." She said as she sheathed both her swords and walked off in the opposite direction.
