With the help of the helpful and friendly bloke, Esme was able to take Alek back to his apartment. It was a simple one, truth be told, and Esme actually thought that her small home that she shared with Accalia, Quinn, and Mac was a little better. But, at least Alek had a decent place to stay, and that was important.
Esme and the young man dropped Alek down on the couch. With that, Esme thanked the young man and he left, leaving her alone with her brother. Not knowing what to do but wait until he awoke, Esme sat down on the arm of the couch at one end and stared down at him. Her brother wasn't the most humble of beings, nope. Alek had struck her as the rather rowdy and snarky type, but nonetheless she loved him. People were different and had all kinds of personalities, which Esme was most tolerant of.

Alek snorted after two hours before grunting and sitting up. His eyes were bleary, so he rubbed them, trying to clear the sleep from himself as he took a deep breath. What....what time was it? Had he slept long? It had been so blissful, dreamless. Nightmareless. He sat up and blinked a few times before noticing the girl. He would jump- she brought him here and stayed!? He....no he was clothed. They didn't sleep together. Good. That would be awkward considering she was his-
"Uh....right. Do I owe you money or something or...?"
He had no idea how to kick this off.

Esme smiled brightly. "You're awake!" she said happily. She laughed at what he said. "Of course not, silly! I'm your sister. Why would I charge you with anything?" She jumped off the arm of the chair and walked over to the side of the couch, kneeling down on the ground beside him. "How are you feeling, Alek?" she asked.

Alek brought a hand up as she said, for the second time that she was his sister. He brought a hand up to his face and wiped it over it, trying his best to think through the haze of the hangover. If only he had some beer....beer was like water to him but still cured a hangover. He would shake his head.
"You are mistaken girl. You are not my sister. Now go away"
He would push himself up, stand around her and walk toward the kitchen.

Esme looked aghast when he denied his kinship to her. "W-what?! Of course I am!" she said, bewildered. How could he say that--but, no, wait, he was probably still drunk and out of sorts. She could understand that. Esme quickly got up on her feet and walked after him, following him into the kitchen, smiling sweetly as she usually did. "Well, I'm your sister because we both share the same father," she stated . "But I know you're not feeling well so I can bear anything you say. I'll go soon if that's your wish. Although, before I leave, there was something I was curious about...who's the cute young girl in the photograph in your wallet? I, erm, had to take out your wallet to find your address, and the photo slipped out."

He didn't respond when she insisted. He walked in and opened the fridge, finding only a gallon of milk and a mountain dew. He....really needed to go shopping. He grabbed the Mountain dew and took a drink, watching her as she asked her questions. Mentioning the picture....He slowly set the bottle down before pulling out his wallet and checking it, making sure the picture was there. It was- which was good. She didn't try to steal his things. He tucked it back away and shut the fridge door.
"Nobody important."
He watched her for several seconds.
"Listen kid, I'm sure you're great. But you don't want to claim me as a brother. People around here don't care for me much and for good reason. You'd be smart to walk away."
He would roll up his sleeves, walking over to the sink and turning on the faucet. He would start to do the dishes, giving her a chance to walk away.

Esme flushed a bright red color when Alek checked his wallet to see if the picture was still there. "Oh, no, I'd never steal anything from it, ever!" she insisted. She couldn't imagine herself doing such a heinous crime as stealing, especially from her own brother.
She looked rather perplexed when he simply said that the girl was nobody important, but she decided to keep silent. She didn't want to push his buttons, as he already seemed less than enthusiastic to see her as is. She frowned even more by what he said next. It seemed that he had done some bad things and was ashamed of that, and so he'd rather she not be around him because he wasn't worth it. "Well, I don't think that at all!" she protested. "I'm not sure why you think that I shouldn't be close to you, but you're my brother and I love you, simple as that. I'm more than happy to accept you the way you are!"

He tossed a plate into the sink angrily, before putting his hands on the edge of it. He stared down into the metal basin, shoulders hunched. He would grab a towel and dry his hands. She was a persistent little beastie. He would turn back around and lean on the counter, staring at her.
"Why is it you think you are my sister? Because we share the blood of a God? You are not my sister. You have never been my sister and you never will be my sister. My sister is..."
He cut himself off, staring down at the floor, and taking a deep breath. He would look back up at her, eyes more than a little cold.
"Get out. Just go."

Esme looked rather stricken by how upset he was reacting; her face lost some of its color. She swallowed, hoping he wouldn't get into a terrible rage. She was also hurt by his reaction, but she figured that it was partly her fault for not doing as he had told her to do earlier. She was a little too speechless to say anything, so she silently turned around and headed as inconspicuously as she could to the door.

Alek would clench his teeth, grinding them before tossing the towel to the side.
"Yebat'....(Fuck....)"
He'd push off the counter and into the doorframe. He suddenly and strangely felt a cold frustration creep over himself. Why had he yelled at her? He said terribly mean things...that was not at all what he wanted. He would call out to her as she reached the door, trying to make her stop.
"Wait, girl..."
If she stopped and turned back he would scratch his head. She was sweet, and had not been deserving of the words he gave her. She had brought him back, kept watch over him, gave him a hug...and didn't ask for something in return. That was not the world he was used to and...having someone he didn't even know constantly talk about being his sister....it brought back memories. Memories he had been able to push from his mind in a sea of blood, sex and alcohol. He would let out a little breath, trying to sort out what exactly he should say that would make her feel any better.
"Look...I am...not good with people. Not a people person. There are...ah...things outside your knowledge that made me yell, and I apologize for it. I do not believe that blood alone makes you family but.....perhaps you and I might spend some time together, get to know who we are. Then maybe over time, I can ah....become this brother you so desire. Does this sound good?"

Esme had almost reached the door. For the first time in her life, she was trying to understand why someone had supposedly wronged her. Normally, Esme would suffer in silence if she was wronged, but she would be convinced that she was the complete victim. She was a bit close-minded, only seeing her view in these situations. Now, though, she was actually trying to understand things in his perspective. Maybe siblings had that effect on her.
Either way, she stopped walking and turned around when he called her back. She was surprised by his sudden change of mind. When she listened to what he had to say, tears almost found themselves in her eyes. Oh, how touching! Her heart blossomed and she just wanted to run over to him and give him hugs and kisses. She didn't know what had happened to him in the past, but she could tell that it hadn't been pleasant to leave him so wayward. But he was trying to do right by her. However, she didn't want to overwhelm him. She was going to cautiously approach as she would a wild animal that was slowly allowing itself to be tamed. She smiled and nodded vigorously. "Yes, I think that sounds great," she said. "That sounds really good."

Alek brought a hand up, massaging his brow to try and push headache he was suffering from out of his skull. He should have drank more water...still, he didn't know if he really liked his own idea, but her pleasure at the prospect was not something he wanted to crush. He had said some very cruel things- things unlike him. Usually he didn't let things affect him so much.... He would nod and give a single clap of his hands.
"Well, alright. You wanna be siblings, you get to have the joy of being the younger one. C'mon, lets finish these dishes."
He would turn back into the kitchen and approach the sink, turning around and offering her a towel to dry them while he washed. When he said spend time together- he literally meant just...being around one another and getting to know each other no matter how simple the process or event is.
And sometimes, the simpler ones were better.

((I am so, so, so, sorry for the late reply!))
Esme quickly followed Alek back into the ktichen. She would do all his house chores if he so wished her to do so. Meanwhile, washing dishes with him sounded fun. She was in silent agreement that the simpler things done together were probably the best. Walking up to the sink, she readily took the towel that he handed to her and began to wipe away at hte wet dishes that he handed to her.

He would speak gently, trying to stuff down the apprehension in his chest.
"Tell me about your mom. What was she like?"
OOC: Sorry for the shortness!
