Alek watched the door close as he sat, taking a deep breath. Ahh....so much air. He loved it. Room to work out and stretch and read. This was leagues beyond what the prison was like in Russia. He wondered what the chancellor was like- what talking to her would be. He decided that, in order to even care about being free, he would have to test her. He would sigh and lay back on the bed to get some shuteye, waiting patiently.

((Minor goof mon cher, not Jason in the prison )) The J.M. White, she's a new boat Stem to stern she's mighty fine Beat any boat on the New Orleans line Stowing sugar in the hold below
Tere sang softly as she walked through the halls of the jail, watching the new buddy of hers getting cuffed back up and carted off, she had to see just what would go down. She hummed softly as she got closer to the cell and then moved to lean against the wall, watching him for a moment. "Ahhh comrade... enjoying your new digs I see." She teased as she pulled out one of her sai from her boot and began to twirl it since she needed something to do with her hands to keep her from trying to do bad things.

Gossip traveled around quickly on the island, quicker than Hermes himself, and soon Nikolai learned that a new Russian demigod had been locked up in prison. That served to make him very curious, and he thought it was worth his time to slip into the jail and get a glimpse of this fellow countryman of his. And there he was, disregarding the seemingly improper action of walking into a jail to get a casual look at an inmate. He wasn't alone; there was another woman. Oh, it was Teresia, daughter of Poseidon who he knew back in Camp Half-Blood. He approached and stood by her side, looking at the young man in jail before smirking at Tere. "Here to just ogle over his good looks, too, Tere? I see that I'm not the only one," he said. "The talk of the island is all about the glorious beauty of the new prisoner. Couldn't be ignored." Nikolai was just being sarcastic. He glanced at the young man again and arched an eyebrow. He seemed to be enjoying himself. "Привет." He had just said the Russian version of an informal "hello" which would look like "privet" using the English alphabet. "I see you lost your way finding the immigrant office." That, too, was said in Russian. ((I don't know much Russian so will just have to put words in English and say it's in Russian ))

Alek would turn his eyes up. His hands were dirty by now, having done enough pushups to shift the earth out of orbit a little. He gave a smooth smile at Tere, who talked about his new digs. He stood and walked over, passing his hands between the bars and resting them there, turning his pleased green eyes on the dark haired female.
"Ah, More ledi (sea lady), I see you couldn't stay away. Yes, I am enjoying my new cell. I can stand and walk and move. That is all I need to live. Did you come up from your ship to see little old me?"
He heard a second voice, that of a male, approaching while he spoke. Today was an intriguing day- more than one visitor at the same time? In such a short period? He felt so special. His smile faded a little as the man spoke russian. It faded until it was gone. Another Russian man? He gave a little nod of respect- finding one here, of all places, was quite unexpected.
"Privet, brat. Eto khorosho, chtoby uvidet' drugoy russkoy krovi zdes'. (Hello, brother. It is good to see another of Russian blood here.)"
Not to mention a little startling.

Tere rolled her eyes as he asked about coming to visit him from her ship but smirked a little, she was going to answer but Nik chose that time to join them. Wow, someone rang the Russian bell and here comes the only other Russian on the island like povlov's dog. Tere snorted a little at Nik smirking and shaking her head. "I was the one that brought him here, Nik, don't you think if I was going to 'ogle' him I would have done it on my ship?" She said and then fell quiet as they greeted each other in Russian. "You know boys, it's rude to speak a foreign language in front of those you know don't speak it." She chided in a deadpan tone.

So, there was a convicted felon in the ranks. Great.
When Ember told Masin about the man Tere had brought back from somewhere or other, Masin offered to head over tot he prison first and check him out before Emmy arrived. He was a felon, a murderer, basically an all around bad person-as far as Masin was concerned.
She marched into the prison, with all the airs of a daughter of the King of the Gods. She expected Tere to be there, but Nikolai was unexpected. Masin walked in just in time to hear Tere chiding the boys about speaking a different language. "Oh, so Nik can communicate with it?" Masin chimed in, stepping up to the bars.
"Masin DeLisle, Magister for Zeus, and you are?"

His eyes came down on the next woman that walked in just as he was ready to respond to Tere. Her words rang in his head a little- 'Communicate with it'. This reminded him of a friend in Russia he used to have. One falsely accused prison mate who thought all those guilty of crimes weren't worth licking the scum from his boots. This one was a far more beautiful version of him, at least when they first met. He would keep his eyes trained on hers- oh, she would be fun to crack.
"Alekaf Rothschild. It is a pleasure, girl. You said you are a Magister...? What is one of the governing bodies doing down here in the dirt with me?"
He would tilt his head a little to the side. Self deprecation and a sense of humor: These were the keys to opening the door these types liked to have slammed shut and barricaded. He decided, just from her initial sentence, that like Tere he would have to be best friends with this one. Nik too, maybe. He always liked him some Russians, and if there were so few of them as he suspected, they would need to stick together.

Tere had heard the echoing footsteps and had turned her eyes, expecting her sister but instead seeing Masin. Her brow arched for a moment but then arched more sharply as Masin called him an 'it'. Granted, she herself had called him 'comrade' with contempt and sarcasm, but now it was more of a nickname.
Before Tere could tell her that he spoke English perfectly well, he was responding to her and Tere had to lower her head and turn her head so that her long hair curtained over her face where she was smirking ever so slightly. Once she was able to push her captain face back into place, she lifted her head and pushed her hair away, glancing between him and Masin.

Masin was happy to see Tere there, but wasn't in the correct position for pleasantries. Still, she smiled at the auburn haired woman and gave her a small smile before turning back tot he felon.
Masin chose not to comment on him calling her a girl. She was a woman, in fact, and proud of it. Still, she smirked a little at his words and folded her arms over her chest. "Even the governing bodies of Concordia have duties, sir. I was sent to scope you out before the Chancellors arrival, get an opinion to share with her," she explained.
"What's the verdict from your perspective, Tere?" she asked, deciding she'd address Nikolai next.

Tere was silent as Masin spoke but had smirked a bit at the nod, returning it before she pulled her dagger from her belt and began to dig dirt out from under her nails. When Masin addressed her, she glanced up but still was doing her nails with the dagger. "He's dangerous, but who here isn't? At least of those of us currently standing here. And he does seem to have a stick up his backside about something, he's arrogant, and personally he makes me want to smack him around a little, but he behaved himself on the Song, so I'm sure as long as he's watched he could be fine on the island." She said and then slid the dagger back in place.

Alek, throughout their talking, never took his eyes off Masin's. He studied them, memorizing the color around her pupil, the curve of her nose. It was the same thing he had done to Tere, but not so graphically. He knew that Tere saw him, and he saw her. This woman was so proud, and seemed almost offended to have to visit him in jail...he loved that straight spine and the arch of her back. A small smile would tug at the corner of his lips at her questions, and at Tere's response. He liked that she didn't ask him any questions, instead offering the questions to the free people around him.
She would make a good Russian. He would speak gently in Russian, only one person in this room understanding him.
"Eto odin ochen' krasivyy..."
He would lazily watch, waiting for her to address him, if she would at all.

Katarine stood almost inconspicuously against the wall. She was kind of on guard duty while the Magister was visiting the inmate. Well, of course. She was the perfect choice. After all, she was no more than a mere private. A regular soldier of the Garrison. Katarine was vaguely interested in the way the conversation was going, but as a dutiful guard she just pretended that she was made of stone and that the only thing that mattered was making sure that the Magister was safe and unharmed as she spoke to the prisoner. She stood rigidly with her hands by her side, the hilt of her sword sticking out of its scabbard. Really, the Magister was much more powerful than she was and most likely could turn this inmate into a barbecue if she wanted, but duty called.
((She's just standing guard, feel free to skip her.))

Masin nodded as she listened to Teres assessment, taking note of it. She turned to Nikolai, "feel free to translate anytime, Morosov. But for now, what's your opinion of the prisoner?" Masin asked, gesturing to Alek but not bothering to turn and look at him. She heard him say something in Russian, of course, but she had no idea what it was and a strong part of her didn't want to know.

Jason would stare at her as she told the other Russian to translate. He would interject.
"I said you are beautiful, gordaya zhenshchina. (Proud woman)"
He would look to Tere and Nikolai, finally, waiting for them to finish their conversation as his eyes would train on the other woman standing guard. This one who approached much have been important to warrant her own security. He could understand that. Coming down into prison where most would hoot and whistle...still, he didn't believe she needed a guard for him. He wasn't a violent person, despite killing dozens of people. He had reasons for them....she did not deserve it.
"When the Chancellor or yourself lets me out, perhaps you and I might try some Kalduny and Medovukha, hm? You will like it."
He grinned.

Beautiful, some other Russian term. Was this guy toying with her? Well, his next comment proved that. Trying some 'kaludinywhaty and medovuwhatever.' Masin cocked an eyebrow at him, unamused. "Well, whatever it was you said I'm sure I will not be participating in it," she turned to Tere and her regal face of judgement vanished into a smile. "I'll be sending The Chancellor this way now, thanks for handling all this," she said before turning on her heel and leaving the prison.
