It was a few days after the attack, and Jason was now wearing garrison colors. He walked up to Mel's place, ringing the doorbell a little too smugly. He had been waiting to find the female again, simply because he wanted to pass something by her. To see if she was still...interested in certain things and to help him bring a case before the government. A case for new orders and laws that helped protect the people.
Not that his sister wasn't doing a good job, but when you get attacked at your own wedding, there are problems.
He would wait, hands in the pockets of his deep blue garrison hoodie, waiting.

Melanie wasn't quite sure who would be ringing the doorbell at this time of day. Ever since the attack, she had been busy reorganizing her people and dealing with the mess that was her personal life. Between her two best friends and her baby brother, the world was almost too chaotic to handle. Jogging down the steps, she pushed the heavy door open to find Jason standing outside.
"Jason?" She questioned, almost as soon as she saw him standing there. He hadn't been back since the first day and, due to the crazy soap opera that was her life, she hadn't sought him out. "What are you doing here?" The Garrison colors didn't escape her eye, though they did almost make her laugh. In all the years she had been on the island, not even the Commander wore those things unless official dress was required, which it rarely was.

Jason would cock an eyebrow.
"I came to talk with you. Can I come in?"
He knew the garrison dress was usually not worn but- that was part of the problem. Everyone on this island had this fog of bliss that they just skipped along in. Nobody took the threats against them seriously, and he wasn't "allowed" to say anything because hadn't been through what they went through. Well, now he had. At the wedding, bodies had littered the area. Guests, civilians. He had tried to tell Mel before and she told him to keep his mouth shut about it- so he had. But now, with the island burying even more dead, he was ready to explode.
If she invited him in, he would take a deep breath and stick his hands in his pockets.
"You have any water?"
He wanted to put her at ease before he got started on business.

Melanie nodded before opening the door to let him in. "We can talk upstairs in the suite. I've got water up there." Well, technically she had a full kitchen to work with, but that was besides the point. Closing the door behind him, Melanie made her way quietly up the winding stairs to the residential area. After a few long, silent moments, they finally were outside her door.
"Alright. You wanted to talk. Talk. " she started, rummaging through the fridge to find a bottle of water. "I'd offer to take you into the office, but it's off limits right now to basically anyone and the littlest brother is occupying the sitting room right now." Siting down at the bar in the kitchen, Melanie sipped a drink she had from earlier and waited for jason to speak

Jason would follow her up and accept the water, not drinking yet. In truth, he wanted it for protection in case she got angry with him again and wanted to fight. Still, he prided himself on being forward. Blunt. To the point. He wouldn't beat around the bush and he wasn't there to rub her nose in anything.
"Alright. Well- alot of people died in the attack, as you know. It's obvious we aren't as protected as we thought and we need to get out of this lul we are in. Instead of having some protection force that knows how to fight when we're attacked, we need to form an actual army that can take the fight to our enemies."
He would take a seat, but keep his eyes on her.
"I feel like we, as an army and a government, are weak, just trying to hold what ground we can and just waiting patiently for the next attack. I want to actually make ourselves feared and turn us into a fighting force that can branch out.. I want to push this on our commanders and the government and I want you to help me. I want to make sure that this doesn't happen again. So...I'm coming to you to see if you will help me get it done."

Melanie listened to Jason intently, though she started frowning towards the end. Jason's ideas were good and ambitious, but she wasn't the person he needed. "I'm not disagreeing with you, but you know your talking to the wrong person, right? My work is low key. My people are out on the frontline every day. That's why most of them survived this chaos. This. This is our job. This is what I do. My people are sound. The government is where you need to take this battle and I have no voice there."
Hasnt she just been telling Finley these things a few days before? It was almost a strange, eery feeling to hear jason say them as well.

He shook his head.
"No, you're wrong. You have a voice as a person, and people respect you. I didn't come to you hoping for a two man team. I plan to get a group of us- just people living on this island that want to see it more secure, that want to make sure our civilians don't die. That's the only requirement. And I'm not judging your people, I know they are sound. However, prior to this attack you contributed to the belief that this island is secure and we don't have anything to worry about. I want that idea to change. I don't want us swimming in a sea of peace in our minds while teeth are bared around us. I know you don't either."
He considered her a friend and he wanted her with him on this.

"Prior to this attack, your sister issued the command that ended the search for the CHILD who caused all of this. Do not tell me that I contributed to anything when Ember Lynn is the one who left Octavia to them for five years. The one who left my best friend to them. For. Five. Years." Melanie was seething, that was for sure. She could feel the temperature around her dropping like it did with all Hades kids whenever they were upset. She wasn't quite ready to throw him out, but she was irritated.

Jason sat still, letting her get mad at him. He seemed supremely calm as he set down his water.
"I agree with you. It is the fault of this government. And though I love my sister and believe she is an amazing peace-time leader...she needs a kick in the ass regarding this war. I agree. But don't play that you didn't say to my face what you said. The last time you got mad at me like this was because I said there is no place that is untoucheable. You got angry because I hadn't been through what you had at camp half-blood. You contributed to the air of this islands invincibility. As have I- everyone here has been relaxed and at ease. That's why we were slaughtered in the middle of a wedding."
He would blink, and his eyebrows furrowed.
"I accept my contribution to that mindset. Why can't you? I'm not even talking about the governments policies- I'm talking about how we as individuals have lived day in and day out. Like we're at peace...when it's obvious nothing could be further from the truth."
Jason was ready for her to try and throw him out, if that was what she chose to do.

Ethan heard stern voices coming from the floor below. At first he thought it was just his siblings having a little disagreement, but soon he decided he needed to intervene. He came down the stairs just in time to here the end of Jasons sentence. It didn't seem like he was attacking her personally quite then, but Mel looked as though she was going to knock the guys lights out. Better to not let Mel kill anyone.
Ethan stepped up beside her. "Hey guys, what's going on down here?"

Aimery was in a sitting room on the same corridor as Mel's office, reading and sipping some wine. However, he soon heard argumentative voices coming from Mel's office. The voice of the other person who was not his sister did not sound like any of his brothers. He assumed this was just another one of her coworkers in the Garrison or someone she worked/had to do with with in her secret agent job, which was why the person was allowed in her secretive office in the first place. Aimery knew he probably wasn't wanted there, but he decided to go check it out. He was protective of his sister and did not like that a stranger had walked into the home of his siblings and was causing a row with one of the the owners of it--he pretty much viewed him and his siblings as above others, anyway, arrogant Hades kid he was.
And so he got up from his seat and made his way out of the sitting room and out into the corridor, walking down it toward the door of Mel's office. He arched an eyebrow at the sight of his brother, Ethan, doing the same thing. It seemed that they were in this together. And so Ethan entered and Aimery followed in after him. Aimery's cold gaze fell upon the man after getting a quick glance at his sister, who did not look pleased. He was nonchalant for the most part, dangerously dispassionate, even if most of his bias was already aimed at the bloke. It was always Mel's side he was on, no matter the circumstances, and he was upsetting Mel, Aimery was not inclined to think kindly of him. "That's what I was curious about as well," he said, the tone of his voice equally impassive, although there was a slightly icy edge to it. He didn't want to blatantly jump into Mel's affairs and dominate things, but at least he could intervene a bit, like Ethan here was doing.

Alex had gotten lost in the house...again...for the tenth time today. Luckily, he had found the hallway where the bedrooms were just in time to see Aimery turn the corner into what he thought was Mel's suite. That was when he heard the voices. Ethan was there as well, though he wasn't sure why. He hadn't spent enough time with his Roman half-brother to know what to think or how he felt about Mel and Aim.
Nodding towards Aimery and Ethan, he made his way into the room to stand beside Melanie, draping an arm around her shoulders. "Repeat after me. Father. does not. need more work. today." It was a joke, but even he knew his sister was about to blow. She really wasn't taking well to this whole "he and Octavia being alive" business in the first place.

Melanie's retort to Jason was cut off by the slow assembling of her brothers, especially the youngest one who thought it would be a bright idea to actually enter the room. She could've almost killed him herself at that point. You'd think that, after being killed by a hydrokinetic once, you'd learn to stay away from them when your sister is pissed off. "Thank you for the concern, guys. I think we're alright though." She directed towards Aimery and Ethan.
"And father will deal with whatever work I so choose to send him. That's my job. Your job is to play with the bodies when I'm done, Damien Alexander." Yes, she had went there. Full name and all. "We're just discussing the department and my contributions to the Battle of the Bridges." It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the truth. Thank Hades that Zane hadn't shown up or he would've smacked her by now.

Jason would scratch his head as brothers piled in. Was he about to get curb stomped by the Hades clan? He grinned. Ah well, he was always up for a good fight, and if they wanted to attack him for his lively debate, he'd be happy to oblige. His hunger for battle was only barely sated. Still, he gave a soft smile and would shake their hand.
"Right. Jason Calloway. I came here hoping for a friend to work with on some things regarding it but...I think maybe I miscalculated our relationship..."
He'd take the water and walk by them, speaking gently.
"It was a pleasure meeting you."
He would leave unless stopped!

It seemed that Ethan had inspired a bit of a gathering. He gave Aimery a nod as he entered, and chuckled as Alex, who seemed to be adjusting okay, made a comment about sparing Jasons life. Ethan took a step forward as Jason made the 'miscalculating our relationship' comment. "Hey, wait a second man," he said, "if you guys need to talk don't stop on our account."
