It was the middle of the night and Ember Lynn couldn't sleep. She stood up and wobbled her way to the beach, hoping that the water would comfort her enough to lull her into a nap. That was when the pain started. It was mild at first, similar to being punch in the gut, but then it was a knife in the belly twisting relentlessly kind of pain that made her scream loud enough to wake at least the neighbors. Their lights flickered on and on of them stumbled onto the porch to overlook the beach where Ember Lynn was sitting, crying for Dylan but not knowing how to get a hold of him from her stop in the sand. The only comfort she got was the momentary lapse of pain when the tide rushed over her feet and she was able to dull the contractions.
@dylan because it's time for her to not be pregnant anymore)

The stirring on the other side of the bed had woken Dylan from a sound sleep, but not enough for him to actually get out of bed. Ember Lynn was likely just restless again, so he didn't feel the need to follow her. That all changed when the scream resonated through the house, alerting him that something was wrong. Jumping out of bed as fast as he could, Dylan went searching for her. "Em?" He yelled repeatedly, realizing that the door was open. As soon as he saw her in the sand, he rushed to her side, skidding to a halt before kneeling down beside her in the sand. "Em? Em what's wrong. What are you doing out here." He questioned breathlessly, wrapping one arm around her to steady her, his other hand reaching for one of hers. The sheer terror he had felt left his heart beating fast and his eyes wild, his usual composure thrown out the door as he took in her current state.

Relieved when she heard his voice, she cried, "It's time. Dylan it's time." She was sobbing and groaning every few minutes with the contractions, "Call Dr. Kotney." She hollered, trying to curl up in the fetal position like that might help. She needed to be in a bath tub. Water birth was the only way to go for her and the water would also let her keep the pain down to a dull ache rather than a searing torture.

Pulling out his phone, Dylan nodded his head before punching in the number for the hospital. A short conversation later and he was done. "They'll be ready when you get there Em." He soothed, attempting to hold his own fear in check as he watched her curl up in pain. "your bag is already in the car. Do you think you can stand or do I need to carry you?" Was it even safe for him to pick her up at that point? Suddenly he found himself wishing that they were closer to the water. At least then she wouldn't be in as much pain.

== time jump .. lets just get to it ==
Ember Lynn was laying in an uncomfortable hospital bed waiting for the nurse to fill the tub was foamy water. While waiting for the water to be finished, she could feel ever contraction of her muscles as the babies both begged to be born. She screamed and every time she did, the water that was in the tub rippled and swayed, sometimes even exploded onto the ceiling without her meaning for it to. This only made it take that much longer for the water to finally fill the tub and for them to be okay with her moving over.
Standing, she bent over and groaned at the contraction and tried her best not to fall over as she started crying, "Damn you Dylan." She snapped, gripping his hand hard as he tried to help her in the tub.

"I know, I know. No more kids and I'm never allowed to touch you again." Dylan related for the millionth time since they had entered the room. A well meaning nurse had attempted to console him earlier by saying that she didn't mean it, but the threats felt a little more genuine with every contraction. "In you go Em." Hopefully the water would help her enough to keep him alive long enough to actually become a father.

== time jump number two! labor it weird to RP lols ==
Ember didn't really remember much about the last twelve hours. It was a painful blur dulled only by the water she'd been submerged in. Now she was dressed and back in her hospital bed, feeling a dull ache in her gut like something was missing. She hadn't gotten to see the babies because they had to be taken elsewhere for cleaning and all that. She understood, but it was still hard for her to be away from them.
Finally, a giggling baby sounded from the doorway and a healer entered carrying two little bundles, one was pink and the other blue. Handing the little blue bundle to Ember Lynn, she daughter of Poseidon looked into the face of her son, Liam Elias. The little pink blanket was placed carefully in Dylan's arms and Ember couldn't stop the tears that started streaming down her face, "They're beautiful." She sobbed, cuddling her face close to the clean smelling baby boy in her arms.

Masin was rushing to the hospital, practically speeding, but not quite. She burst into the door and didn't even have to ask where to go. The orderlies led her Em's room and she walked in, calmer than she had made her entrance downstairs. The babies were already there, wrapped in pink and blue. Masin stood in the doorway as the babies were handed to their parents, and she almost slipped out before they could see her.
She should have been here sooner, been with Em through the hard part. Though, she may have not been allowed in the room anyway. Either way, she was hesitant about interrupting. She waited a few more moments, taking in the sight before stepping int the room and smiling at Dylan. "How are we doing?" she asked, turning to face Ember for a moment.
Masin wasn't one for babies, not really. She never saw herself as a mother and the idea of it almost made her panic. She took a step closer to Dylan, taking in the sight of the girl in his arms. Birth was amazing, but she did not reach out nor ask to hold the child. She doubted she ever would unless asked by Em. Still, it was very sweet, cute and astounding.

"They are wonderful." Dylan finally whispered as Masin entered the room. His eyes never left the soft pink bundle in his arms, though he did eventually move to tilt her upwards so that Masin could see the baby's tiny face. "Lydia, meet Masin." Not quite ready to hand his daughter over, he simply stood closer to his wife's best friend for a moment before crossing the distance to where Ember laid. Holding Lydia as close as he could, Dylan finally pried his eyes away from her to take in his son, wrapped in a matching blue blanket. Carefully cradling Lydia in his arm, he reached out to touch Liam's tiny hand, smiling at Ember as he did.
