When all was still right. (Connor)

Rosalind had been at Camp Jupiter for three months now, and she was getting accustomed to it.  She really had no choice but to.  She wasn't a fighter and wished she was back home with her family--especially Jack, her childhood friend and stepbrother who she fancied herself in love with.  On the good side, she was making some friends.  She particularly was fond of a certain son of Zeus named Connor Steele.  He was admittedly handsome, but more importantly, he was easy to get along with.  So kind and admirable was he.  Of course, Rosalind told herself that she shouldn't let herself get too carried away with those feelings.  She needed to be loyal to Jack, who was waiting for her at home.  Still, though, she couldn't help but find herself feeling fluttery when she was around Connor.

Anyway, it was morning and Rosalind had risen early just as everyone else had.  She made her way to the Mess Hall, where she grabbed herself two slices of pizza.  Having done so, she moved to one of the tables with the comfortable low chairs, put her food on the table, and then sat down one of the chairs.  She was going to have a long day ahead of her, so she didn't feel guilty about eating pizza. 

Connor had gotten up earlier than most of the Camp so that he could go for a nice long run, he felt a sense of freedom while he was running and though he knew there would be many drills like this at during the day this was his time. After his run he jumped into the showers and got changed for the day running to the mess hall and grabbed some eggs and toast, with a small side of oatmeal and saw his friend Rosalind sitting at a table on her own. Jogging up from behind he leaned over and placed a peck on her cheek from behind smiling as he sat down, "What are you letting just anyone steal a kiss these days?" he laughed and just as he was about to take a bite of his meal he saw hers and he laughed while adding, "What is that? Are you really having cold pizza for breakfast again!" Winking to let her know that it was all a bit of a joke.

Rosalind gasped when she felt someone plant a kiss on her cheek. When she realized that it was Connor, her face went red.  It didn't help that he was teasing her. He as a flirt, but his teasing never got old to her.  "C-Connor! Good morning," she said quickly, trying not to sound too twitter pated.  She smiled when he joked about her eating cold pizza.  "I like pizza, although I know that too much isn't good..."

It was a bit embarrassing, being caught wolfing pizza like a glutton in front of the guy she liked.  But she still liked pizza and wanted to eat it, and there was no point in going back to get other food.  "Did you sleep well last night?" she asked.   

Connor looked at Rosa smiling softly, there was something about this girl that he couldn't get over. Something that seemed to make him want to make her laugh and cry so that he could be there for her always. Even though he could tell she wasn't interested it didn't change his strange desire, though he was in a happy go lucky kind of move and when she asked how he slept he couldn't resist it any longer. 
'
"I slept horribly. I was missing a certain companion who helps me relax at a moments notice. I was missing...you." Smiled he took a few bites of his meal wondering how she would react, though he had opened up a small can of worms he knew that no one could tell him that he didn't tell the truth.
