The Great Hall had been transformed into a large dinner table, set for nineteen people. Masin had sent out invitations to seventeen people to join her for dinner tonight in order to discuss a new unit she was implementing into the Concordia Law Enforcement. A military police force that was under the Chancellors direct control. They would be called the Vox Populi which translated to 'voice of the people'. She used the services of @taze, a skilled forge man, to make special bracelets for those who ended up as a park of the Vox. The bracelets had the ability to exclude the wearer from the power neutralization technology that was being implemented in the DEMI-GOD TRANSITION CENTER and would label them as a member of the Chancellors police force.
Now, all she had to do was wait for her guests to arrive so she could recruit and discuss the idea with them. She invited Ember Lynn along as well, not because she thought she'd want to join the police but because she wanted Ember to know what her plans were. She wanted to keep Ember involved, as her right hand magistrate along with Geoffery Di Mercurio. However, Masin did not invite Geoff tonight. She, of course, invited @david, considering he was her head of security and right hand body guard. She wasn't planning on asking him to join the force, however, for she liked the position he was already in. She invited Taze, the maker of the bracelets, for whether he wanted to join the forces or not, he deserved recognition at the dinner party.

Riley arrived much earlier than the dinner having wanted to ensure everything was secure and that his team was prepared, with such a large gathering of military leaders and members of the magistrate. He knew enough of what Masin wanted to discuss as he had been there when she was planning it but he had suggested that though she did have the final say in what they did discussion with senior members on the island was important. "Everything is in place Masin, we the team knows what they need to do. Now it is all in your capable hands." Smiling he placed a hand on her shoulder, "Tonight is full of possibilities and curve balls you...I mean we should take them in stride." He let his hand fall from her shoulder and he stepped back as he saw the door open and he knew he now had to fall into his role of security chief more than friend.

Dante approached the Authority Headquarters and smiled, a month since the battle and finally he was starting to feel more like himself. Hell he looked more like himself as his face no longer was a myriad of colours. HIs leg however was further from perfect than he wanted. He wished he didn't need to use crutches, he almost would have preferred the cane but on discussion with his physician who also happened to be his brother the crutches were preferred as they game him a bit more stability, he had driven over so that he didn't have to over do it so he climbed out of his truck and grabbed his crutches and walked through the door. He saw Masin and Riley and he greeted both of them. "Chancellor Delisle, I was honoured to receive an invitation. Riley a pleasure to see you as well. Am I the first to arrive?"

Gage had been there for a little while, watching the exchanges of people who happened to know each other. He couldn't understand why he had been invited to some fancy dinner. He was barely a week on the island and suddenly there was some secret event? How weird...
He sat quietly in the corner, not one to start the conversation.

Taze sauntered into the dinner wearing ripped jeans and a blue pearl snap shirt open low enough to show his chest but not low enough to show his navel. Upon entering the room, he saw the guy Melanie had been talking to when Taze came for her help with Braxton. He knew the basic story, but not enough to pass judgement on one party or the other. He hooked his thumbs on the belt loops of his jeans and jerk his head in greeting, "What's up?"

Ember Lynn's hand was pressed against her heavy belly as she waddled into the meeting, looking for her best friend. She wasn't sure what the whole thing was about, having been quite absent in the shadow of her babies being born any day, but she thought it necessary to come to this dinner, for Masin. Smiling, she gave her best friend a strange hug, trying not to squish her baby bump, "Hey, what's going on?"

Eda arrived with little fuss, but again, not a shred of fancy clothing on her person. Jeans and a comfortable cotton shirt, unbuttoned enough to show the earthy tank top beneath. That was probably as good as anyone would get, as she wasn't dirty or greasy.
She inspected the place, the room, with a sort of cool detachment.
'Let's go and get this over with.'

Though Shane had considered not coming, an invitation from the Chancellor was something he could'nt bring himself to pass up. Still, he had duties to attend to first which was how he ended up in uniform at the party. Oh welll, it could be worse. Noticing that his first captain was there as well, Shane mentally relaxed a little bit. If Dante had come, how bad could it be? "First Captain Tyrell, Chancellor." Shane greeted with a salute.

After 103 years in this world, Cass had ceased to be shocked by anything, especially not being invited to dinner by someone in power. If anything, she was only concerned that Mel hadn't been invited as well. What where they doing that would involve Dante and captain walker, but not her friend? The red flags were going up in her mind, but still she entered the room and waited. If things were as bad as her gut was telling her, then she needed to know sooner rather than later. History had a way of repeating itself, and Cass knew that all too well.

Dante turned to look at the person who spoke to him and smiled, "Captain Walker, I am glad to see you are doing well." As he turned he saw more guests filing in, his fellow First Captain had arrived in the same outfit she normally wore to work, he might have been in the same situation if he wasn't stuck at a desk or in the hospital for all his appointments and check ups. He simply wore his uniform like Captain Walker. He also noticed Cassandra arrive and she seemed a little distant. "So Walker how has training been going lately. Anything to report while we wait?"

As people entered the room, greeting her and taking seats Masin greeted them in return.
Dante, or Gregory as she usually called him, was the first to arrive. "Captain Tyrell, good to see you," she said, a bit of a playful smile gracing her face for a moment. She greeted others, and soon turned to Taze. "Glad you could make it, Fowler. Have a seat," she said with a courteous smile as Em approached her. She returned the hug, also careful not to squish the baby bump. "Em," she said with a small sigh, a smile growing on her face to momentarily take the place of her businesslike smirk. "Please, sit here," she offered the chair on the right hand side of hers, and took a seat herself. "I'm implementing something new to Concordia. It's... different, but I hope you can see the good in it," she said softly to Em, a hand on Embers.
She gave her one last encouraging smile before standing, facing the group. "Welcome everyone, please have a seat anywhere you like. Help yourself to the food as I begin," she started, gesturing to the plates of food in the center of the table. "you've all been invited here either because you are highly recommended by me, or by someone I trust. I am hoping to implement another level of security onto our island," she continued, "as you all have noticed, some more than others, the immigration reform has been changed significantly, due to the problems that have happened in the past. Permission to leave the island is going to be harder, but there will also be more missions to rescue those of us left behind," she explained.
"As for this group, I'm hoping to start a sort of added police force. The Vox Populi," she said, gesturing to Taze, "Mr. Fowler has made special bracelets to aid in the work of this group. This police force will work directly under myself, with help from the magisters, to keep the peace and help citizens as much as possible to be safe," she explained.
"Any questions you have about it are welcome. I don't need an answer right away. For now, enjoy the meal and contemplate how you think you could contribute to this group, and if you want to," she stated before nodding once and taking a seat to begin eating her own food.

Riley stood a little off to the side so that he could keep an eye on everyone and listen to Masin's plans. He liked Masin's plan to a point and knew that some of her plans had shifted since the attack and though he wanted to speak out right now he would wait, he wanted to hear what others had to say first since he would be discussing this dinner with her over the next few days in private. Dante shifted in his chair and Riley wondered if his friend was going to make a comment now or wait and listen for others first. He had seen how Masin had greeted the man, professional in spoken terms but the smile said something a little more. Just one more thing he would need to discuss with his friend and superior.

The Vox Populi, a police force that would report to Masin or someone in her office and other government officials. She was walking a tight line her, history could repeat itself and that was something he didn't want to be part of, he knew she cared about the islanders and their protection, but was this really the way to go? He looked around the room wanting to find out what they thought about it before he said anything, he knew he had to make sure he didn't say something that offended his friend but he wanted to make sure she heard his honest answer. So he sat and waited.

Eda's eyes flattened.
But she managed to wrangle her tone to one of neutrality.
"The idea itself is all fair and well from a very surface point of view, but you haven't given us any solid details aside from mentioning a personal policing force - which, to be blunt, is showing you to be ridiculously power-hungry - and some sort of bracelets. Cut the politics and sell it straight, or you're not getting any support."
She was calling a spade a spade. The chancellor was speaking as though everyone here was already in, just because they came.
And that was a dangerous assumption to make.

Ah, a voice of reason. If Cass hadn't been so tense, maybe she would have nodded her thanks inn Eda's direction or spoken up first, but all she could think of right then were bodies and a charismatic man who had tried to burn the world down.
"I have to agree with the first captain, Chancellor. I try not to speak out of place and allow the Demi-gods the chance to make their own mistakes, but in 103 years in this world, I've never heard of things like this not ending in tragedy." Her tone was clear and loud, not attempting to command respect but still making sure her voice was heard. Cass had never admitted her age to anyone on the island, even some of the the hunters didn't know. Thowing it around here was not her intention to say the least.
