Fortunes of the Harvest | Everyone is Invited.

Diana walked around the new house, the walls still had the faint scent of fresh paint to them. It was why she had seen too it that all of the windows and doors were currently open. The weather, they said, would be good tonight. So this made it a perfect night to host a house warming party. After the battle that happened, she was sure that everyone would need a way to relax and to recoup, but not just that. There was the secrets of this house that she wished to reveal to the right people. Well, everyone on the island that is. However, her thoughts were on all of those that hadn't made it, those that had been injured badly or killed because the attack had come so quick and those that couldn't fight had no where to go, or didn't know where they could go.

She sighed softly as she held the invites in her hand, each one addressed to one of the Magisters as well as one for Garrison people. This wasn't a fancy dress party, just people getting together to enjoy some fine wine, cheese, and a few other things. The sideboard in the dining room, as well as the table itself was covered in hors d'oeuvres that people could pick at, the bars were fully stocked in wine and other alcoholic beverages. There were even things for those who didn't wish to drink. The only thing left to do was deliver these invitations and make sure that the gate and the doors were open so that any of the islanders could join in.

Once she had seen to the invites, she returned to the house and picked up a glass of Merlot, swirling it and sniffing it - as was the way she had done since nearly birth - before taking a sip, her eyes closing as she savored the taste.

Vince walked up to the door of the grand house and carefully held the bottle of Shiraz in his hand, he knew that Diana was a daughter of Dionysos so a bottle of wine might make the night pass by a little easier. Though he enjoyed parties with the aftermath of the battle he was trying to spend a little more time inside so many people had lost people they care about that his power was on overdrive, he was tired and wanted to be resting. He couldn't deny the benefit this party would have for so many people and so he braved the outside world, though he knew he would only be out for an hour or two. He rang the door bell and waited for the hostess to make an appearance at the door. When the door opened he smiled and said, "The name is Vincent Woods, I am not sure if you remember me Ms. Paniers, but I heard you were hosting a party to celebrate the survival after the battle and wished to come pay my respects." When the doorbell rang, Diana looked around, it had been just her in this part house and she could have sworn she had left the door open so anyone could enter. Still, she rose and set the glass of wine down on a side table as she made her way over to the door and pulled the large and heavy door open once more. The male she saw, handsome as he was, was not quite one of the males she was expecting to see first, but she didn't let that stop a gentle and kind smile from coming to her face.

"I recognize you, Mr. Woods, a son of Cupid I believe." She said as she offered her hand to him to shake, "Please, Please come in, you're actually the first arrival." She said, stepping aside so he could enter. Once he had, she'd make sure that the door stay open this time before turning her attention back on the good looking male. "Welcome to Villa d'Ambrosie." She said cheerily her eyes only now noticing the bottle of wine.

Her blue eyes lifted to his and she smiled gently. "I know it is odd to host a party so soon after... Well, after the battle, but I just can't wait to show the Magistrate and the rest of the island what I have thought of." She said, leading him deeper into the house, "Please, help yourself to any of the food or drink." She finally said as she looked at all the food and drinks she had stocked for the party and then back to the handsome son of the god of Love with a gentle smile on her face, he really was very handsome.

Jaz had just gotten off work in time to get Diana's invitation. Sure, she intended to move in to the house within the next few days, but with things being so weird around the island, she just hadn't gotten the chance. A party sounded like the best way to start things off for the Dionysus kids, especially with their Roman half-sister dying in the battle. Poor Abs, she never stood a chance.

Shaking the thought out of her head, Jaz followed the open door in to the room where Diana stood with a guy she didn't quite recognize. Deciding to give her big sis a little bit of space to do her thing, Jaz made her way to a table with glasses on it to get one for herself. Of course, she had no intention of drinking the alcohol already laid out. That was for other people. She settled on a favorite of hers, but not the bright pink concoction that she normally went for. It was a sweet red wine that Diana had introduced her to a few years prior, back when they were still getting to know each other. Maybe that's why it was one of her favorites.


Jaz's Outfit

"Thank you for the invite, I am sorry I am early but i wanted to ensure I got to say thank you in person. Since the battle I have not been feeling to well and usually keep to myself." He took a look around the home and had to admit Diana sure did know how to prepare for a party. He listened as Diana spoke about the odd timing of the party but her desire to show the Magistrate and the island what she had thought of. Though it was a nobel idea he worried that there would be many ranking officials that might not attend, he knew that there was a senior member of the Garrison that was in hospital recovering from a near death experience during the battle.

He picked up a glass of wine and sipped it enjoying the full body of flavour, no one could deny that the children of Dionysus knew their wine. "If you don't mind what is this plan you are so keen on sharing?" As he finished he saw another woman enter he didn't know or recognize her but judging by the lack of response he guessed they were either friends or family. "Good Evening, my name is Vince Woods and who may I have the pleasure of addressing?" He said turning to look at the the second woman.

He spoke of not feeling well, and as he did, Diana found herself looking him over. Of course, she wasn't a doctor, didn't know a think about health or anything to that extent, still, she was curious. "Oh I'm sorry to here that, would you mind if I ask what is wrong?" She asked, her tone gentle and caring, Diana disliked the idea that anyone else was harmed during that battle.

Then Jaz entered and she smiled to her sister, blowing her a kiss before waving her over, she was fine with her sister joining them. "Vince, this is my sister @jazlyn, Sunshine, meet our first arrival to our little show and tell." She said cheerily before she turned her blue eyes back on the son of Cupid. "To answer your other question, I was at the battle and ended up with some of the kids, it reminded me just how many we have on this island that are not able to fight for one reason or another. So have outfitted this home with large and hidden areas where people can take shelter I they don't know how to or just aren't able to fight and protect themselves. Yes, there is the garrison, but that is only so big, plus if I was the enemy, I would want to attack there the hardest. I don't think they would expect this house as being a shelter." She said as she looked between him and her sister.

She wanted to protect people in her way. She wasn't the best fighter, but she was a hell of a protector and would die to protect those who can't do it themselves.

So, this is what all the hype was about. Becca was mildly impressed as she walked through the doors of the Villa in search of the host. Sure, she had been pretty shaken up by the battle, but no good daughter of Venus would ever be able to pass up a party. Especially not one thrown by the Dionysus children. That, and it would be good PR after the incident at the Hades party.

Sidling up beside the hostess, she grinned brightly before speaking to Diana. "Good Evening, Magister Paniers. Love what you've done with the place!" Yea, with the right amount of charm, this could be a good night after all.

"It's pretty brilliant." Jazlyn conceded with a large grin towards her sister. Of course, just about everything Diana did was brilliant. That's why she was the one in charge of representing the family as a whole. "Who would ever think to look for something like that in a house like this? We're partiers, not fighters. If one of the Big 3 houses would've done it, the thing would've had a target on it's back." Taking a moment to refill her glass and take a sip, she noticed the arrival of one of Diana's coworkers. Great, the politicians were here.

Vince agreed with Jaz's comments it was an idea that would work well, it would be one of the least thought of places to have a bunker, it was a brilliant idea. Before he could properly respond to any of Diana's questions though his Aunt Rebecca arrived, he groaned a little as she always seemed to enjoy working against him when it comes to matters of the heart. "Aunt Becca it is a pleasure to see you again, I am so glad you made it through the attack unscathed." He then turned and directed his attention back to Diana, "Thank you for the concern Diana but it is nothing that a bit of rest and relaxation won't cure. Though I would like to say that your plan has been really well thought out. I would never have thought this house would contain something so extensive. You really have out done yourself."He took another sip of the wine finding it very enjoyable and in the present company he wasn't in any danger of feeling the pain of lost loved ones from the attack.

Diana noticed the entrance of another Magistrate and smiled to the woman politely, lifting her glass of wine that she had picked up again in a thanks to her words. "Thank you, Magister Ashland, and please, call my Diana." And then she turned her attention on her sister and smiled brightly to the woman "I'm actually shocked I haven't heard anything about either of the two houses for two of the three that we have. Does anyone know the status of them after the attack?" She asked a bit worried, there was the house of Hades and the home of Poseidon on the island but she hadn't heard if either house had suffered an attack in the most recent battle. Her sister had a point though, the Big three would be targets just as well as the Garrison because the big three were known for their fighting prowess.

Not many knew that their father had some fighting skills as well, after all he was nothing but a lush and avid partier. Then she was turning her attention to the male beside her and she smiled softly to him, "Please make yourself at home if you need to sit, there are plenty of places where one can just kick back and relax. But if you three would like to see some of the things in action, I would enjoy showing you around the house a bit, or showing you guys some of the other things that have been added that aren't clear to the naked eye... and for good reason. Though, I did wish to give some more people a chance to join us before I did that." She said with a soft smile and then looked to Jaz again "You, Sunshine still have to pick out your room if you want one." She reminded.

Shaking his head Vince said, "Thank you for the offer but I will be fine for now. If I feel a little drained it would be best for me to head home so that I am not near lots of people, one of the main downsides to being a son of Cupid." The idea of the tour would be great but he thought they should wait a little and see if anyone else did show up. When he finished his glass of wine he said, "This wine is fantastic, where did you get it?"

Becca cringed at the sight of her "nephew". Of course, her idiotic immortal half-brother would have to have a child around her age. Not just a child, but an amokinetic. He was pretty much her exact opposite. Oh well, she'd have to deal with the brat being here.

"Well, I think I will just have to go get some of that delightful wine. Maybe my lovely nephew can continue keeping you company while I do?" She breathed through a sickly sweet smile, activating her power as she did to ensure that no one would question her. Well, maybe the brat. He sometimes saw through her persuasion, which is why she'd be having no fun here tonight. With that, she walked away towards the bar to get some wine. If she was going to spend the night babysitting Vince, she'd do it drunk.

Ignoring the bickering between the two relatives, Jaz turned to Diana to answer her questions. "I don't know about the Poseidon place, but the Hades kids either didn't get hit or it's repaired already." Hopefully, Diana wouldn't ask how she knew while they had guests, or at least while they were within earshot. It would be embarrassing enough to tell her sister that she had spent the night with a son of Pluto, she didn't need an audience.

Pondering her room choices, Jaz looked at Diana for a moment before settling on a decision. "Why don't I look around when we get to that tour? Then you can help me pick." Heck, she was one of the most indecisive people on the island. Diana would have to prod her the entire way there, just to get her to pick a floor, much less a room. Besides, the entire house was so pretty that she wasn't sure she could pick a favorite. Diana had really out done herself.

Diana nodded to Vince and smiled to him, "I understand completely, till then, help yourself to any of the food and wine..." She started and then glanced over to her sister as she told her about the House of Hades. Her brow arched in question but she didn't ask, that would be something for a later time before she looked back to Vince, smiling all the more. "It is exceptional isn't it? I hope that our own wine will be as good, this though is a gift from my mother and her family, they sent us quite a few barrels to keep us drunk till our own vines are ready." She noticed that Vince's ant had headed to the bar and glanced to him for a moment. "And Sunshine, you know I will be proding you the whole way. Shall I show you two around and we can let Magister Ashland join us when she wishes?"

Vince heard the extra push in dear Becca's voice, and he shook his head, she seemed ready to fight over nothing. It wasn't planned that he would be the same age of his aunt it was the result when you have immortal parents or in her case siblings as well. "I will enjoy the wine for sure, as will Magister Ashland I am sure." He took another sip of wine as Diana's sister spoke of the Hades house and his he felt the slight pull, a small sigh escaped his lips as he realized with only two people on the tour this could be a draining day anyway. Thank god for good wine.

Extending his arm to Jazlyn he said, "A tour sounds lovely, can I escort you Jazlyn while your sister shows us around?" He said politely, it was also planned so if there were any questions Jazlyn wanted to be able to read her expression as he felt he might be helping her understand her heart if she didn't know already, it might be the only way to keep from feeling drained with in the hour.
