Connor smiled at her comment and she did have a fair point, he had enjoyed his time in the legion but there was more he felt he could do while he filed paperwork as she said. "Creating a new society needs the soldiers and I could be one, but I felt I was better suited to help lead the island." He smiled and laughed as he thought about how stupid that sounded, who was he kidding. He was a son of Jupiter king of the gods and the ability to lead was in his blood, he just chose the more public face. "It also helps that my dad is king of the gods so I know I can lead at least, though I don't desire it as much as my greek half sister it would seem."

Connor received a brief nod from the First Captain, and an acknowledging raise of her glass in mock salute.
"Thanks."
She didn't actually know who he was. Not because she was new, but because she didn't really care, and - more importantly - she had better things to do than pay attention to who had what seat of "power". So long as they weren't royally screwing things up, she didn't blink.
Then it was a matter of waving the apparent duo off before she looked towards the male that addressed her after. A quick flicker of her eyes as he saluted, plus taking him in, marked him for Garrison. Eda appreciated his choice of drink, then nodded.
He wasn't entirely familiar to her, which meant he was Minotaur.
"Yeah, more or less. The only reason I'm here is to see what's what and beat a path right back out."
She tipped her glass towards him and then took a sip.
"Captain in Minotaur" She was likely right. She didn't work too closely with them, but she was pretty meticulous with certain faces all the same.

Nodding as he spoke, Becca resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Was that all that these magisters thought about? Politics. Still, she managed to smile up at him as she squeezed his arm before pulling him to a stop at what appeared to be a private space. Perfect. This, she could work with. "It's such a shame that someone with your...physique didn't end up in the Garrison. Surely you would have been a great asset to them." As she spoke, she reached up to run her hand down his arm seductively, stepping closer as she did

Smiling he pulled her closer, "My physique shouldn't be the only reason. I thought about it, though I still try to train as hard as we did in the legion, I can't go losing my physique" He said as he leaned in closer to her. His own hand moving up to her shoulder and then slowly down to the small of her back. "My dear Rebecca, are you trying to seduce me?" He whispered next to her ear as he ran his hand over the curve of her bottom before he moved her so that her back was against the stone wall. "If so, you will find no arguments here." He then captured her lips in a quick kiss before moving away from her to sit on the stone bench behind them waiting to see her response, she was a daughter of Venus after all.

"yes ma'am." He replied respectfully before emptying his glass and placing it back on the bar. A quick scan of the room let Shane know that the hostess wasn't around, so it was a moot point to expect to leave any time soon. "I just want to see whether or not they pulled it off. This place is supposedly better fortified than the garrison bunker." Scoffing at the thought, Shane leaned against the bar to watch the other occupants of the room. How come Pheonix had gotten their First Captain to go while he got the job for Minotaur? Someone's decision making skills needed reevaluated, that was for sure.

Eda let the "ma'am" roll off her shoulders. If she let it, it would bug her. Pointless, in this and most settings. Was he from the Southern States beforehand; did he have an accent? Either way, she was drawn back in with his statement.
"Seems like a waste of resources. Especially on just one place."
But that was a bit of the problem. Everyone liked their extravagance. Eda on the other hand...was ready and willing to gtfo. She had no attachment to where she was living. If they had to turn tail and hide away again, it wouldn't bother her.
Well. Not materialistically, anyway. It bothered her that they were like scrambling sheep trying to run away from wolves nipping at their heels. She'd rather ram them with horns and give them a taste of their own.
Kind of difficult when you considered the numbers though.

As much as Addie wasn't a party person, she really needed to get her mind off her work for a moment. She had been swamped the past few weeks with people being so paranoid after the whole battle of the bridges. She had decided to take the day off... well, Addie never really took a day off. Not in her head, at least. But tonight she didn't have any work to do.
She showed up at the party in dark brown pants and a white button up. Almost an Indiana Jones type look, though that wasn't on purpose. Walking into the room she automatically started assessing the party guests...

Pushing him backward towards the wall, Becca leaned against Connor, wrapping her arms around his neck as she did. "Well, what are we waiting for then?" She purred, kissing him excruciatingly slow before grabbing his hand and leading him backwards. "Not here though. Let's head back to my place." By now her eyes were glimmering with excitement as she waited for him to respond, pulling him close so that she could wrap her free arm around his neck. This had been much easier than she had expected, but the big three kids usually were. They took after their fathers, after all.

Smiling he kissed her again before nodding, "Your place would be fine with me." He followed her all the way to her home enjoying the moments alone and the thought about what was to come.
((Short but I figured since we were moving to a different thread it would work as the final))

Shane nodded in agreement. "I'm not sure how I feel about a private residence housing the kids in an attack. At least the Garrison would be protected. What happens if we can't get here? Would a rather fortified their dorms instead or put another bunker." No, Shane wasn't soft hearted, but it was the principal of the matter. The non fighters were safer with them and he didn't appreciate some magister with too much money trying to change things. It would get more people killed than during the recent battle, he was sure of it.

Eda paused, thinking, and absorbing his words. He'd said and touched on the things that annoyed her.
"I agree with having more than one place. Not everyone is going to be able to make it to the Garrison. However, one house is stupid. Pointless. If there were more "safe" locations," Her eyes narrowed at the word she emphasized with some sarcasm, "Then we could probably organize movement to get there and get them to the Garrison, but all this just sounds like a good deathtrap if we do it like that."

Shane poured another glass of whiskey before offering the bottle to the First Captain. She had a point, but where were they going to start? "A private residence wouldn't be bad as long as it wasn't so big and flashy. This looks like a place for the big three kids. They'll line up to take it down, and with too many hiding spots it'll be harder to clear out if they over run it." He had seen better ideas come from the privates after a long night at the bar.

A person who could actually think. Not bad. She nodded shortly as he mentioned the house being fancy; he was right, and she was glad she didn't have to spell that out.
Taking the bottle, she allowed the amber liquid to douse into her cup before raising it in mock salute.
"Couple pyros, couple flamethrowers. If I were them I'd burn the island to the ground and pick apart any safe hatches that happened to survive the flames. This place? I haven't seen much of it, but it'll burn."

Contemplating her answer, shane took a drink and looked around the room before responding. If there were anything special about the room, he couldn't tell it. That, and their hostess seemed to be taking her sweet time on her private tour. Downing the rest of the drink, he turned back to the First Captain. "Don't suppose we can just feel free to explore and find out for ourselves. Colonel Wyatt is going to have my ass if I don't report back soon." Braxton might not be a complete hardass, but it still wouldn't be good for him to linger here while Diana did gods knew what. Maybe he should text him to be sure.

Eda glanced at him, some of the respect their conversation started to garner now slipping away.
"That's a good idea— Don't you have coms to the Colonel? The Minotaur?"
Or was he actually stupid and did he cut himself out of communication? He seemed smart, but... She didn't know. She really didn't. One could hope that as a Captain, the rank wasn't just a bunch of fluff. How would he know if there was another attack if he didn't have some form of communication?
